Just got to post a big hold on there! People wanted Pavlik to beat Taylor becuase he was a slugger and so forth. He was exciting where Jermain was not and he didn't get gift decisions. I was upset when Taylor didn't finish Pavlik in the second round like he should have, but I'm over it.

Fact is...Taylor's first defense was against Hopkins whom he had beaten previously, followed by Winky, Ouma, and Spinks. You wanted him, you got him. Now he has to fight at the same level against top tier competition. It would be a shame if our new blood and guts middleweight champion fights lesser competition than the previous who was deemed too soft.

He should fight Abraham since it is the next logical step. He does not deserve a break after one fight against a guy who is now a fringe contender and a title fight. Fight the best like his predecessor did.

  2. Forget about everything else, Pavlik vs the winner of Calzaghe-Kesseler is the most exciting match..:hey:hey

Pavlik will fight nothing but the duddys of the world...He will not fight the elite, and you know he want no part of JT again...If only JT just throw one uppercut when he had Pavlik doing the watoosy.

Did you see Bute beatdown Berrios, now that is called boxing. Bute would kill Pavlik..hell any of the elites would either outbox or TKO Pav..

    Arum knows this
    Loews knows this
    Pavlik Sr. knows this
    Duncan knows this..

And most importantly Pavlik knows this...Go fight your Duddys Pavlik and leaving boxing to the elites, which you are not.

Aren't you overlooking that there's a BIG German marked that don't give a feck about Pavlik vs Duddy. But would pay real dough for Pavlik vs Abraham.
Should more than make up for the added US interest in Duddy. If Pavlik fights Duddy rather than Abraham (assuming Abraham wants it) has more to do with Buddy being the easier fight than lack of interest in Abraham.

I'm not suggesting Pavlik should travel. I know it remains to be seen if Abraham could be lured out of Germany - but i think he could (he's an immigrant to Germany after all - so in a way shown he'll travel for the money).
You have a valid point about HBO rating. Just think the drop in HBO ratings would be more than made up for with the money brought in from germany. I think most americans who'd buy Palik-Duddy would also buy Pavlik vs any live opponent (especially one with a belt). It's simply a matter of having TOW major markeds covered instead of just one.

And just a comment on the german judging. I'm not german - and we've certainly also had danish fighters that i feel hve been cheated in Germany.
BUT!!! ppl need to get off their high horses about this. bad and corrupt judging happens EVERYWHERE - US and UK (and Denmark) most definitely included. It's just so much easier to see it when the others are doing it. I'm not disputing Germany has a bad record about this. But i seriously doubt Pavlik has a bigger risk of being cheated in Germany than Abraham has of getting cheated in USA.

Yes I agree that bad on both sides when it comes to fighting in other guys backyard. And in truth I hope Pavlik takes a chance and fights Abraham,Calzaghe,Kesseler and Bute in there countries, as over seas those fights would be bigger events with bigger live gates then here in USA.

I think Pavlik already beat McKart by 6th round TKO. 1st person to ever stop Bronco by TKO/KO. That's funny, that you don't think Kelly could do what he has alredy done!!!:rofl
