    Unfortunately, yeah.

There was a time when the Ring was the anti-alphabet title. That was the whole damn point of it. That changed even before ODLH got on board, when the Ring "overhauled" its rules back in the early 2000s.

I wonder if he could defend it against Timothy Bradley in the future.

I love Mosley but if he goes down to 140 he'll be like the meat in the freezer and Pac will be Rocky beating him to a bloody mess

    Bull****.

They are the most open and transparent of any rating orgainisation - With a full list of all the Ratings advisory board and their rules up on the web for all to see.

personally i like what the ring is doing here, but it has a loophole, Pacquiao can go down to 140 fight some nobody and jump back up while keeping the 140 linearship.

basically what theyre saying is that if Pac fights a third consecutive fight at WW, they will consider that he is no longer a JrWW.

They would have done it already if he hadn't specifically asked them not to, thus hinting that he was in fact only compagning briefly at WW and that he would move back to his original weight.

    Precisley!

They changed the rules because they admitted installing Vitali as HW champ was flawed in its logic.

So they got the advisory committee together and publish all their standards for making people champions and have the most transparent process, with a FAR more level approach to rating their tope ten fighters than any other orgainisation.

Given that the title costs the fighters NOTHING to either fight for or to compete for ANY ranking - Unlike every other major alphabet title - They make themselves open.

I still scratch my head at how DLH owning the Ring has any influence on the rankings as I'm yet to see how Golden Boy dominates the rankings when they only have champions at Jr Fly (Calderon), JMM at 135, Pac at 140 - Who they're going to strip if he doesn't defend it in his next fight, Kelly Pavlik at 160 and Wlad at HW.

Who is being slighted? Who misses out? Who is being ripped off?

Would you prefer that the casual fan and the media used, lets take a random ranking for comparison, The IBF 147 rankings

    Champ: Jan Zaveck

    1. Rafael Jackiwicz
    2. NOT RATED
    3. Selcuk Aydin
    4. Isaac Hlatshwayo
    5. Delvin Rodriguez
    6. Randall Bailey
    7. Jackson Bonsu
    8. Carlos Abregu
    9. Luis Collazo
    10. Alfonso Gomez
    11. Mike Jones
    12. Said Ouali
    13. Jesus Soto-Karass
    14. Sebastian Lujuan
    15. Rudolpho Martinez

I'm still pissed about Wlad being allow to win the ring championship off Chagaev when Vitali was #2. Its dumb as ****. The whole #1 vs #2 or #3 in some cases is dumb. #1 vs #2 or nothing at all.

Ring really lost a lot of cred when they wouldn't sanction the winner of Margarito vs. Cotto, despite it meeting the vacant title criteria...all because Margarito lost to Williams a couple years prior.

I think Kelly said he was shocked that he had to pay $20K for the belt. I'm sure there was no mark up there. :-(

Highly doubtful. They would not allow a fight OVER the weight he hold a belt to count. Don't be ridiculous...
