Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley

This is a bad fight for Pac... it's the reason why Roach didn't let it happen. While Mosley has certain types of weakness, many of which Pac does not have the particularities to truly exploit effectively. Pac is quick yes, but Pac opens up way too much and would get caught jumping outwards by a big right hand. Shane has a monster chin and will land big on Pac. He would have to develop a quick and effective jab. Styles makes fight and I just dont see Pacs style being that good against Mosley. Pac will want to trade...

 

Pac toyed with Cotto who beat Mosley. I know styles makes fights but Pac destroyed Cotto. Mosley would look very old.

 

Cotto has a completely different fighting technique. He has a very good jab and fights really well on the backfoot. Pac is nothing like Cotto... styles makes fights! There is a reason why Roach declined and said what he did about Mosley. He knows his fighter.

 

Damn, I can't really decide but I have to say, I would absolutely love to see that fight!

 

If the Mosley of the Cotto fight had met the Pac of the Cotto fight, who wins?

My God! Don't you people realize that most of Mosley's success in the Margarito fight had to do with the fact that Marg didn't know how the hell to get out of the way of punches? People act like Mosley could have beaten anyone that night! Sheee-it. Had he been in against a defensive guy, he would have looked as bad as he looked against Mayorga. Do you really think Pacquiao would be as easy to hit as Marg was? Hell no!

 

people think Pacquiao is a 1-dimensional come forward brawler who just comes forward with his chin up in the air and his eyes closed.

 

Mayorga weighed 170 pounds and his fighting style is very erratic. Mayorga doesn't really have a defense... a person with defense is not what beats Shane or makes him look bad. It's a person who has the capacity to out-box him. Pac is not going to out box Shane. Pac is not Mayorga, neither is Shane cotto. Styles MAKE FIGHTS. I don't think Pac's style would do well against Shane's.

 

That's what they said about Ricky Hatton before the Mayweather fight too.

No one thinks that. Pac has quick footwork, he has good punch selection, and his defense is pretty good as well but when he opens up he can get caught -- especially in those moments when he jumps out of range... Mosley can catch him with his loaded up punches at that point. Mosley will not crumble at anytime in this fight. I don't see in his current style the particularities necessary to beat Mosley. Mayorga is a bad example.

You guys KNOW styles makes fights and Mosley has a much better trainer. People think Mayweather will beat Mosley because he has all of the particularities to make Mosley look bad. With that said, Mosley has a much better trainer, who knows how he will be.
