Yes, this forum is full of posters who believe that Floyd and Pacs moves and abilities are a new phenomenon.
Thanks for caring about Roy buddy. I am sure he appreciates it:goodTaking the time to look up those pics shows you really care!
Now Roy Jones Jr. thats a style that is original and will never ever be duplicated again ! Much respect to the former lb for lb great however his fate will be sealed against Tito in January Hopefully he will retire after getting ko'd
 do you think loche's jab was as good as floyds or his right hand or power and techique. anyways this was in the 70's. floyds dad was learning these moves already. so 100 years isnt a good claim is it:good
The point is to teach you 16 year old Floyd huggers that nothing is original in boxing. I hear this crap all the time about Floyd being one of a kind, GOAT fighter with a style so unique. Styles occur and re-occur in boxing.
Locche had a unique type of defense. But I don't think it was more complete that Floyd's defense, so I rate it below.
In many ways, Floyd is a one of a kind. However, this video proves nothing that people didn't already know. No knowledgeable fan would ever say Floyd's defensive style is unique. The Philly shell has been around for a while, everyone knows this.
Hang around here long enough and you will hear it. Anyways, the original point of the video wasnt about putting Floyd down, just an appretiation for an old great and a recognition that he fights much like Floyd does today... THATS ALL. :|
I still don't see the point of this thread. PBF's defense is the sum total of different aspects of defensive philosophy, so that if you took each aspect by itself, it would be at or near the highest level that we have ever seen. His natural ability, reflexes, defensive mastery, and footwork, by themselves are only surpassed by a handful of people. But no one has reached the same level of ALL those things like PBF has. That counts as unique in my book. If you took away the best aspect of any of the great defensive boxers, all you have left is an average defensive boxer. If you take away the best aspect of PBF's defense (and I can't even tell what that is), you would still have a defensive master who's better than 90% of the competition.
