Folks - A great exhibit of photos on the sweet science is on at 401 Richmond St. The photos are top-notch and if you've never been to 401 Richmond, it's a pretty cool building re-imagined as a gallery and artists' space. And, it's free... oh, and the other exhibit on at Gallery 44 involves a wall-sized projection of miscellaneous semi-related photos that include plenty of hot women in various states of undress. Boxing as legitimate, skillful art/hot women in interesting photos/free/part of town with lots to do once you're done your visit... can't lose proposition. Ottawa , Canada , 1964) Pete Doherty is a self-taught photographer and graduate of the Ontario College of Art who, for many years, left behind the world of art to become a successful amateur boxer. After retiring from his amateur career, Doherty returned to the ring with his camera in hand. His work as a photojournalist is focused mainly on the fight and the people who populate that world of boxing. His photographs document the emotions, training, and politics that make up both amateur and professional fighting. Doherty has participated in numerous exhibitions including CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival, Toronto ; DU.M.B.O. Art Festival, New York City ; Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, Toronto ; and Queen West Art Crawl, Toronto . He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including: B+W Magazine Single Image Contest – Silver Award – Sports (2005); and Toronto Star Photo Contest, First Prize - People Catego ry (2003).
