Would the prime Thomas Hearns be successful in today's WW and MW divisions?

The only challenges I can see at WW is Floyd, Mosley and Paul Williams if he is still coming down to 147. Noone else would be able to come close to Hearns at 147, IMO.

At JMW, Sergio Martinez and Margarito might be able to match up with Thomas. I'm giving Margarito the benefit of the doubt in his fight with Mosley as he had a difficult time making weight.

At MW, Pavlik would be lucky to only get outboxed if not KO'd. Sturm would be outmatched as well.

I don't see Mayweather posing that much of a challenge to Hearns. He can't out-box Hearns, and he doesn't have the kind of power that would put Hearns in trouble. Staying in a defensive shell would do him no good as it would just lead to a prolonged beating over 12 rounds, and we all know he does not have what it takes to bring it to Hearns head on (like Leonard did).

Mosley-Hearns at WW would be one for the ages.

Floyd-Hearns would be one sided for Hearns.

    There's no-one from 147-160 I'd favour over him.

Hearns is a horrible style match-up for Mosley and Floyd - I've no doubt he would beat both handily. Who else is a realistic challenge for him? Pavlik? I say he beats them all.

Hearns wasn't all that great at MW.

He was a devastating puncher at 147-154 though.

Hearns - Pavlik is 50:50 in my opinion. Pavlik is taller than Hearns an at least as good in stalking and using pressure as Barkley. Hearns' great boxing skills were sometimes negated by his warrios mentality, when he let himself get into a pure fight instead of boxing. His power at 160 was still good, but not what it was at 147 - 154, I doubt he would KO Pavlik.

Hearns is tailor made for fighters like Mayweather style-wise.

Pac would stand a better shot than PBF.

did you even think for a second how gay your screen name is when you registered here?

You need offense to beat Hearns and if you joyboys think Floyd has a better offense than Pac there is no hope for you all.

That's the best you can do? Just look at your avatar pic.

And im far from a joyboy. Im actually someone who knows their boxing.

Tommy Hearns would beat pac inside 5 rounds.

The way floyd fights he would last longer by fighting on the back foot.

The sad things is that although us on here all know the legend Hearns was, in real life he now has financial problems and his house is under foreclosure

I can't really picture him losing to anyone at 147 or 154. 160 would be tougher for him. That's where his chin problems were more pronounced. You look at skills and talent and Hearns should beat Pavlik, but then again he should've beaten Iran Barkley. Juan Roldan had him hurt too.
