Darren Fletcher is 100 x the footballer Harrison could have ever been a boxer.

Fletcher is 4th to Cantona, Best and Keane

I can better that. I was working in the counting house in Glasgow that day he went nuts!! Grade A nutcase & a complete wank on that occasion im afraid. Wasted talent though, i liked him & style as a boxer. Better than Arthur anyhow

    :hi:

i think scott harrison was a very dedermined boxer who was a class act but he was lead down the wrong road in hindsight scott should have stayed away from his mates but he didnt and thats a shame but scotland benifited from scott harrison as tv was back watching boxing in scotland which in the long run benifited boxers like aaa kevin mcintyre gary young willie limond simpson because they where recieving exposure on sky tv even billy nelson has benifited from scott exposure which has led to him being a very good trainner in his own right so i hope scott comes back but most importantly he is in a good place mentally and he should be remebered for his boxing talent

    How good was he?

Good, but not the cream of the crop at any time. People talk about him like he was a mercurial talent lost to booze. The reality he was a guy that was very big for his division, very stong, a hard worker and a solid puncher. For those reasons no he wouldn't have been good at other weights, part of the reason he was good were size and strength.

Its funny how all of a sudden now that Scottys been banged up for years so many posters here have supposedly 'bumped into' Scotty in pubs/nightclubs & Scottys been such a horrible person!

The made up story brigade are having a field day in this thread:D

Whatever next, Scotty Harrison ate my hamster?

He was a very good fighter,he seems to have totally gone of the rails though.I thought and hoped he was going to get his licence back and then he ends up in a load more bother due to the ale.I think he would have had some big fights and won a lot of them had he stayed away from the beer.He was a very hard fighter who would hold his own against anyone. Its a shame we will never know just what he could have done in boxing.

Not at all mate. He had already slipped down the spiral in life, when his mate got refused drink in the pub i afore mentioned! Tried to fight...... then chased the manager into the kitchen & attemptied to bang the door down to smack him!!

My only witness of the guy i "bumped into" was that he was a horrible person. A shame..........................

You hit the nail right on the head there my good man.

Scotty was special, its a great shame that the booze beat him before he got the chance to prove himself at elite level.

Rob let me tell you Scott was a machine at his best nobody could touch him, people think he was just a tough guy but he beat pablo chacon who KO'D koko kovac by outboxing him, nobody in the UK would have beat Scott at FW,SFW OR LW,I base this on at the time he'd spar with the best SFW and LW in the country and no offence to these guys destroy them. You always sound so dismissive of anything a scottish fighter acheives rather rude wee man.

the thing is so what if your big at the weight you need to be talented and extra special to be a world champ.ive never in my life seen a bigger lightweight than brescott i rest my case.
