I was one of the few who picked clottey to win

    I picked clottey to win by KO

    What went wrong with my pick:

    I actually predicted how the fight would go for the early rounds and I was right, i was actually expecting clottey to start putting on the gas pedal in the late rounds. What he did on the early rounds to me was what I initially thought was a plan, a plan..yes a plan to have pac punch himself out. He even played possum in the 2nd round where he almost went down.

    Man, pac didn't get tired at all, what a hell of a stamina that was. This guy can fight for 15 rounds, and I'm even willing to bet 20 rounds.

    I thought clottey would start opening up more on the late rounds, he's punches are strong, he rarely opens up but it landed a lot of times and it hurt pac especially those mean uppercuts. Clottey maybe slow but he throws fast, accurate, and powerful.

    Why I also pick him, was because he never, never before lose in my eyes until yesterday. Solid chin, solid body and perhaps the most solid fighter at 147 atm on par with mosley. Now, i really think why he lost was he didn't take that much risk, i didn't see much of his counterpunching like it did in his fight with margo., perhaps he was reluctant to open up more but i really think if he did he could take pac's punches and dish out some of his own.

    And btw clottey may have been pathetic tonight but he is not a cherry pick opponent like most people say. He has a pretty good chance of beating most of the top 10 WW today except for the top 3 i think which is floyd,pac, and shane

    I think Pac gave Clottey those uppercuts, hoping to make a better fight of it for the fans. There's no other reason why I can think that Pac went in there and started leaning on Clottey


    BTW I think Clottey has a decent chance at beating any WW and that includes PBF and Mosley. Not a favorite but a decent chance for sure

    I guess man....seriously, I mean understand the notion of taking one to land one, but you're saying that Pacquiao just decided to let Clottey snap his head back a few times just for the fans?

    I don't see him having any chance against mayweather, what do you see him doing to cause him problems?

    He was perhaps hoping that Manny would let Joshua hit him with enough uppercuts to get the job done.

    I laid a bet on clottey too although i expected Pac to win. I can't remember being more frustrated watching a fight. How are you not gonna at least open up in the last 2 rounds when you know you're blatantly losing.

    now thats just ridiculous:rofl, pac left his defense because clottey was like that for almost the whole fight, what pac prove was he had a very good chin to even take a shot like that from a strong WW, i also feel he left he was getting frustrated at how he can't break clottey down and that would lead to desperation leaving your defense more.

    I halfly agree on your 2nd paragraph though, No way he beats shane and mayweather though, but I'd pick him against most of the other top WW like quintana,collazo,cintron, and probably berto

    Manny didn't let Cotto hit him with anything, he covered up on occasions because even he realizes he can't be throwing 200 shots a round and hope to last the distance. He covers up, Cotto then unloads and despite his high guard, uppercuts were getting through. Manny didn't like those uppercuts, he didn't want any of them...trust me. I think it's hilarious that the shots Clottey did land instead of giving him credit we're suggesting Manny gave him the shots. ...Spellbinding.

    I'm saying that Pacquiao decided to get in close and into Clottey's comfort zone for the fans, but not that he purposefully let the uppercuts through his guard. He wanted Clottey to open up even though he was winning the fight easy, and I think that's cause he wanted to make a fight out of it for the fans. Its really not so farfetched.

    Pacquiao has never been defensively all that impressive, and just as Cotto landed clean hard shots, so did Clottey, and so would Mosley and Mayweather. Manny is now in the business of fighting fighters who have the physical capacity to make fights relatively competitive, and by taking on the two best Welterweights in the world, Mosley or Mayweather, that would then be emphasized to an even greater degree. Cuts and bruises, I mean, more cuts and bruises, will ensue in the future.

    Clottey is an energy zapping fighter, I was wrong cause pac simply had way too much energy, if you notice though clottey was probably the only fight he'd ever work that hard for 12 rounds. What I also expect but didn't happen was clottey didn't threw more punches.

    You can count the punches he threw in that fight and notice what it did to pac right:deal now what if he did more? He certainly dissapointed me on that one
