to be honest the bad mouthing of clottey and pacquiao is really getting quite annoying. i for one would just like to show my appreciation for what turned out to be an entertaining fight. i don't really want to hear about how is was a mismatch or some other bull****. yes it certainly wasn't as mouth-watering a prospect as the mosley v mayweather fight in may but to be fair i imagine that this fight will have much less use of the bicycle then the mosley may fight.

for the record i expected pacman to win on points, but i thought clottey showed some class and more importantly toughness in defeat. and please don't make any poor comparisons to the pac cotto fight, because clottey and cotto are completely different fighters.

all i can say is bring on pac vs mosley/mayweather.

I enjoyed the fight too. As a matter of fact, I think it was a great fight. People need to give some credit to Clottey. he didn't make the mistake of going toe to toe against Pacman and he did land some flush counter straights and uppercuts.

you've got some pretty low standards to qualify this fight as entertaining.

Clottey's walk to the ring was without a doubt the highlight of the night, the fight was alright I guess, nothing special...

I enjoyed the fight. Not the same way as Pac's last 4 fights, the bar is too high to match those other 4 or so fights of him. But compare to most elite fights, it's not that bad.

    - like the ring entrance, girls singing US anthem, clottey dance
    - laughed so loud in round 4's double punch to the ears by Pac
    - laughed so loud at Lampley's bang bang bang
    - 1250 punches thrown by a fighter, helluva work rate for full 12 rounds
    - Intriguing boulder granite solid defense of Clottey - hands covering head and body. A solid chin on top of that.
    - some exchanges are interesting, like clottey had his uppercut moments
    - there's atleast 5 punch combos (clean shots to the body) thrown by Pac every round.

The whine about fight being boring is due to Clottey feels like attending Pac's 12-round boxing clinic course. In my opinion, it's more of Clottey seldomly find the right opportunity to open up and exchange more, add to the fact that he's a naturally low workrate type of boxer. Pac being infront of him, worsen that.

I enjoyed the fight as well. It was an amazing display from pound for pound king Pacquiao. During the course of the fight I kept thinking how amazing it was that all those Mexican featherweights lasted as long as they did against Pacquiao when he can batter big strong welterweights around the ring like this.

i'm not saying it was highlight of the year or anything, but it ws a solid and entertaining fight. i just want people to give it the dues it deserves. it also reinforces the idea that pac can take a good shot.

Get used to the "bad-mouthing"...as long as Pac continues to call out Floyd Mayweather, this is the reaction you're going to hear when Pac has a successful outing. Oh well...It was a great performance by the Filipino badass, and not even the most diehard of Floyd's fans are going to say anything to change that.

Floyd fans need to move on, because their fighter will never fight this version of Pac. Mark my words, this fight will never happen. As much as they don't want to hear this, it's the truth: Floyd is just as responsible, for "the fight" not happening, as pac is...that is the truth.

some of my friends who are used to pacquiao stopping opponents thinks this is a boring fight. but i think it is quite entertaining. pacquiao trying to solve the puzzle of clottey's defense by trying to bombard him with shots at all angles and position, going upstairs and downstairs. even trying to hit clottey's guard if clottey would buckle. also clottey's pinpoint accurate jabs had trouble pacquiao for some stretches in the fight. pac used to spar with penalosa before so he is not new to someone who has tough turtle-like defense.

I post in Classic. What pisses General posters off about Classic posters is that whenever one tries to shoe in their favourite top-line fighter onto ATG lists they get shot down, because you have to be truly exceptional to make such lists. I understand why posters do this though - they want to be involved with a fighter who is as great as any who have gone before them, they dont like living in the past. Here we have a fighter who is a genuine, bonafide ATG fighter who is up for proving it and when he puts on an exceptional clinic in dominating a bigger, live, ranked opponent they complained that it is one sided. Mental. Of course I enjoyed it, i'm a fan of boxing. It thrilled me, it was a great occasion.

So you complain about people bad-mouthing Manny, then you bad-mouth Floyd in the same breath... Trust me Floyd gets it just as bad, so calm down, that's just the price of being at the top...
