Should be a good battle test for Valero against a slick fighter like Peterson.. I'm not so sure he is going to keep that 27 wins 27 knockouts against him... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPbYIX1S-jY[/ame]
I talked to Lamont Peterson in Dallas on Friday and he said that even though he felt he lost the fight against Bradley, he felt he did well and feels confident in his chances against Edwin Valero. I think regardless of the outcome, it will be a tremenous fight. He was in Dallas supporting his brother in an untelevised bout.
Unfortunately he is much avoided at the welterweight division. He is still fighting but at 147lbs now. No one wants to fight that guy...he's not considered a factor but still poses that same one punch threat. He's stuck in no man's land.
Peterson got my respect when he fought Bradley... he was really trying to win that ****. that knockdown was big for Bradley winning the fight
This would be a very interesting fight. I think Valero would definitely have a chance, although I would give a small edge to Peterson.
Since pulling out of the Holt rubber-match, I haven't heard any news about Ricardo. It's a shame he can't get a decent scrap with such a tv friendly style. You would think a promoter would seek him out to showcase on a undercard at the very least.
props to showtime for puttin him on... it only means no having to watch channel 41 or 47 or finding internet bouts... and...it means bigger and better opponents to come.
