I think Mayweather has a unique argument here.... He was the pound for pound king, retired, and came back.... He has never been beaten, Pac didn't take it from him....

I think Mayweather honestly has a stronger bid than anyone else had they beat Marquez and Mosley.

You have not had to lose all the time in the past to get it taken.... Roy Jones lost it twice, I think it was Mosley and Trinidad that took it from him for a short period of time, but lost and Roy got it back.

I think if Mayweather beats Mosley really convincingly, he should be pound for pound king.... It would also only help heat things up between him and Pac.

When did I say Mosley was irrelevant? Its a great victory for Floyd but people are making it out to be as if its some sort of victory that erases all of Pac's great victories the past 3 years. Is Floyd beating Mosley really much more impressive than Pac beating Cotto? Also taking into account Pac was moving up from 140 for that fight, granted Cotto moved down 1lb. Even if I were to concede that a Mosley win is greater and I do, it isnt that MUCH better that it just suddenly propels Floyd back to the top again.

They picked Cotto cos Cotto is a top rank fighter and there's more money to be made from it for Arum. Its as simple as that. If Cotto was a GBP fighter and Mosley was top rank Im confident we would have seen pac-Mosley by now.

No I didn't spell his name correctly. I went to school next to the Kronk Gym in Detroit clown so I know exactly who he is.

Your Vid also showed me why you don't understand the questions about steroids. You don't get why 102 punches and movement for 12 rounds straight is uncanny. You have no idea.

On the other hand I should have watched the fight with you. I know the spread would have been great!

You are right "irrelevant" is harsh. You made the perfect case as to why there was a time to fight him. Then you guys go on to bash Mayweather for making the exact same choice.

I am sorry man I just don't see Pac's record the same. Exciting fights with serious "factors". His whole myth was built on "leftovers".

So now you are saying he fights for money and that is cool? WTF?!? :huh

Man you guys are confusing me.

It would be a TKO/KO for PBF to be even considered replacing Pac on the list as #1 P4P - in my opinion. If it is anything like the JMM match, then it won't be enough. He loses to Mosley, then he goes down to #3, while Mosley gets auto to #2.

Him beating Mosley makes him #1 ....simple Mosely wanted to fight Pac at 140 and they turned it down ....Y....because when Mosely beat Margarita they knew it was too risky.

I dont get what your first paragraph is about. The important thing is, yes I do believe Floyd was avoiding Mosley for a while, also 2 or so years ago, Mosley was kinda irrelevant himself because most fans acknowledged his age. He then comes back with a dominant win over Collazo and fans get on his boat again, he goes life and death with mayorga and they jump off, he destroys Margo and their back on.

For the record I picked Mosley to beat Margo, its a styles thing. I think too much is being made of this victory really. Shane in no way or form is close to prime, however, even a past prime Mosley is still a top 3 WW and the most dangerous fighter Floyd would have faced. Thats why he gets credit for this.

"Leftovers" is a silly term. Boxing is a game of wins & losses, by your logic a fighter must be undefeated else he is a "leftover". ODLH was a leftover of Hopkins. Hatton was punished by Collazo. Castillo was a leftover by 5 fighters before that. Judah was Baldomirs leftover. Baldomir was 10 fighters leftover.

Just the whole term is silly full stop. A fighter is a fighter, he doesnt suddenly become **** just because he has a loss...Pac certainly wasnt Morales leftover after the first fight.

Pac fights who his promoter puts in front of him. Cotto was an easy fight to make, a very respectable opponent, there was absolutely nothing wrong with fighting Cotto. Id be hella proud of Floyd if he fought Cotto.

If Pac had a hard time against Clottey and Floyd had a dominant win over Mosley then you would have a case for Floyd overtaking Pac in the P4P rankings. But since Pac shut out Clottey, I think P4P#1 is still firmly in Pac's court.

Seriously now, Pac may have become #1 by default but he has had an incredible and totally dominant run since then. It will take Floyd more than a win against Marquez and Mosley to get that mythical title back.

Mayweather is expected to beat Mosley. Imagine if he doesn't.

if he does, its status quo.

if he beats the crap out of Mosley we can start talking. He's not expected to do that.

Pac isnt scared to fight him, he said in his post fight interview he will fight whoever is the winner.

If you mean why didnt he fight him after Hatton. Simple, Pac was a JWW who could make LW. Shane is a big WW. Shane carried a lot more size and strength than Pac, that is clear. At the time, like we as fans, I think Pac and his team were unsure themselves as to how they would handle a WW, yet alone a big WW like Mosley. Thats why Pac had to see for himself how he would fare against a WW punch by going to the ropes against Cotto.

Now Pac has fought 3 fights at WW in total, he has also fought a big WW in Clottey, he is now ready for a big WW, and hence ready for Mosley.

Floyd did not have the luxury of ever using size as an excuse, for a start he couldnt even make 144, second he has been a WW for years way before Pac.

Pac already fought Cotto before Mayweather, you guys expected him to fight Mosley before Mayweather too? What next, throw in Margo too?
