If Macklin wants to make an impression at world level he needs to be fighting and beating guys like Ghevor no avoiding the bullet...

I agree I just can't understand why he doesn't fight Barker?? Beating Barker has to move him close to a world title shot?? He'll be fighting an unbeaten fighter an he'll also get a very good payday fighting Barker too!!

No wonder Americans always take the **** out of British boxing :-(

Always the path of weakest resistance, cherry pick a weak champion, a few easy defences then get embarrassed on their big payday.

Its possible they want Roach to work on him a bit before he really starts stepping up the ladder, he does seem to be in limbo at the the moment though. He might end up goin the way of Jamie Moore looking good at European level then being left in limbo wth a possible title shot hanging around then face domestic oppostion (Barker) and lose everything he built up. I still feels sorry for Mooresy

I do, he seems like a great kid, but if you aren't good enough at the weight you aren't good enough

Sounds like you have an issue with Macklin!

    A. Barker! fuuck Barker! Do you think Macklin or his team or fans are interested Barker? They and he are more interested in a world title fight and if anyone at lower level was to get a fight with Macklin they would want to see him in with Lee or Duddy!!

If you want to know what Macklin thinks or Barker then have a read of this (just swap the $ sign for an 'S' in scene) http://www.boxing$cene.com/?m=show&id=22427

    B. Sounds like the truth - are you disputing that Macklin has a broken nose??

p.s. classy celebration last weekend!

Why would Macklin be interested in fighting a dangerous opponent now he is near world title range. He is best off fighting a few OAP's and guys no one has heard about and nagging an Interim title.

    fuuckin right there is!

Maybe Macklin hasnt done everything that other fighters have like winning the salubrious, prestigious, highly vaunted Commonwealth title but maybe some day he will get there.

Here is a wee picture I took! Enjoy - he did!

tony bellew just giving his opinion nothing to do with a issue with the lad and that what makes me laugh about sacarstic comments i.e the bellew celebration so what he went abit mad he just won his first title and emotions were running high you probably never laced a glove up in your life or if you did were not good enough to be in a position to win a belt

The sweet scent of hypocrisy - nice!

Thanks for your support and comments regarding my sporting prowess - finally someone is acknowledging it. :good

If Tony was basing his opinion on even the slightest modicum of fact then far enough but he didnt - he insinuated that Macklin was faking an injury to get out of a fight. Well is out of order to be honest.

But hey maybe Macklin faked a broken nose so he could come back Brum and celebrate St. Patricks Day with his mates! :nut
