These are two of the biggest tragedies in the history of boxing. Who else can you think of with a career that was so brilliant but ended far too soon. Amateurs and professional examples are welcome.

As big as the tragic death of Stanley Ketchel, at age 24, and Salvador Sanchez, was the untimely death of Les Darcy.at age 22...Les Darcy was considered,a sure HOF,when he left Australia in 1917 to seek the middleweight title in America...At twenty Twobyears of age he was being compared to the great Stanley Ketchel...But fate intervined and Les Darcy died from complications of an infected tooth,at the tender age of twenty two...He might have been the greatest middleweight,if given the chance...

Who knows what Luther McCarthy might have become if he had not been killed?

Masao Ohba, the Japanese Sal Sanchez (in circumstance rather than style).

Tyrone Everett schooled Alfredo Escalera and lost one of the worst decisions ever. He may have given Arguello hell. Killed in his prime under bizarre circumstances.
