Why you keep repeating yourself. Wrong gameplan, wrong gameplan. Duran kicked his ass. You can use your wrong gameplan for Duran in the second fight due to Duran balooning up past 200 and even SRL confessed to rush Duran intot he rematch knowing very well that Duran would be dehydrated. Why would he do that if he was coming in with the right gameplan and not the wrong gameplan for the rematch?

He is a ATG LW who achieved a great win over a undefeated SRL at 147, Moore at 154, and Barkley at 160. Has Mosley won a title at 160, no.

Mosley has established himself more at 147 and 154 more than Duran ever did. True Duran fought greater fighters than Mosley ever did, but that is not Mosley's fault. He did not have Hearns or Benitez or Leonard or Hagler to fight. Fact is Duran lost to all of them.

Davey Moore was green, and wasn't all that much, and Barkley was a so-so champ. Big ****ing deal.

It cannot be simplified that way. No matter what Duran could never beat Ray Leonard who fought his fight as in November of 1980. And then Duran lost to Benitez by easy 15 round decision.

Precisely. I love how the Leonard fans are so quick to excuse Leonard's loss in the first fight due to his "wrong gameplan", yet they're so quick to dismiss the much more profound excuses for Duran in the rematch. Comical.

Ray's win in the second fight was better. He outclassed Duran fighting his fight, and Duran barely beat Ray fighting his own fight in the first fight. Then Ray won the rubbermatch easily. I think Ray proved his dominance over Duran. Had Duran not said no mas Ray would have probably stopped him. As a matter of fact, Ray was landing body punches right before Duran quit. I always thought it was related. When Ray started landing and still was not hit, Duran quits.

Ray did not quit when he fought Duran and Roberto did. That is significant. For Duran to quit means he was preventing what was sure to come. A TKO probably. Ray fought the whole 15 rounds fighting Duran's fight in the first fight and it was a close fight. Ray won by TKO (but not really) in the rematch. Ray came out ahead in those 2 fights, and that is not even putting the rubbermatch in 89 into consideration. And the Benitez fight I think is significant because it made very clear Duran's weakness with speed, something he had not had to deal with as much to this point since the guys higher in weight were faster and deeper in skills.
