I wouldn't rank mayweather in top 5 because his last decent ww fight was at jab judah at that was 4 years ago. I would rank him six though. 1. Pacquiao 2. Mosley 3. Berto 4. Cotto 5. Clottey If mayweathers beats Mosley obviously he moves to number 2 but not until then
Look...Pac's a great fighter but tha man's WW resume is poor.... He fought Oscar at 147 but Oscar wasnt even a real ww wasnt ranked as a WW and had no tittle....he simply wanted to make the fight with Pac thats all....great win though. Cotto....catchweight simply put...how does the champion have to fight at a catchweight but then turn around and fight Clottey at 147....great win but still he forced a WW fighter to fight a catchweight. Clottey- great win period...no catchweight and a legitimate ranked WW. So i would rank em Mosley- He put n work at WW and current WW champ PAC - great fighter but i mean the only legitimate WW fight was Clottey...period. Floyd(Won the tittle by beating the champ at 147 and his resume although weak still fought all fighters who were real WW except Hatton who although won a tittle at 147 never stayed there to defend it so he was not a real WW.) Plus last real WW fight was like 4 years ago...favorite fighter but facts are facts...win over Mosley and i got him Number 1(probally contaversial but he would have beat the champ.....AGAIN) The rest doesnt even matter the other three are light years apart right now.
Cotto didn't HAVE to fight Pacquiao at 145...because he didn't have to accept the fight with him at all. He could have kept his belt and never entertained the idea. It was within the welterweight limit and nobody forced him to come down a mere pound from his last weigh in with Clottey.
Now: Mosley, Pac, May, Cotto, Clottey. Post May 1st: May, Pac, Mosley, ..... Post Pac Vs May: Pac, May, Mosley,.... :good
no one is even complaining about this but the joyboys. even cotto and his team themselves admitted that they are ok and are in better shape fighting at 145. they probably think that this is equal or even worse to what floyd did to jmm, making him move up to weight class to fight him at a certain catchweight (1st ***** move) by floyd and then ignoring the agreed catchweight (2nd ***** move by floyd).
your right...but it still wasnt necessary to even ask for....it still was a catchweight...im not complaining but it is still the facts...i'd rather Pac simply fought him rather then even ask for a catchweight. Besides....that fight was a career high payday for cotto you dont think that played a big part in the decsion to fight at that catchweight? Still a great win though i just dont like the fact it had to have a catchweight...just my opinion thats all.
not complaining but you have to take it into consideration when ranking him with WW's who fight without catchweights...besides i still have him at 2....thats still very good considering the facts and i have Floyd third....so im not a floyd biased person...he has flaws as well which is why he is third.
