Foreman wasn't beaten into retirement. He beat the crap out of Briggs and was robbed by the judges but this is irrelevant to your post. I just wanted to make that clear!

Overrated? Probably but he's not the most overrated. Nowhere near. He also was the best welterweight for 3 and a half years and to the best of my knowledge has never lost at that weight. His demise began when he began to climb the weights. There are many men you could have picked for "most overrated" without even mentioning Tito's name.

He was certainly vulnerable in that department but he had excellent powers of recovery and he carried great power in both hands. In most cases any knockdowns he suffered only seemed to wake him up and he would usually KO his opponent for their impertinence.

bernard hopkins is the most over-rated fighter in esb history. everytime he has fought a good fighter at his own weight he has lost - jones, taylor twice, calzaghe.

people give him props for feasting on way lighter fighters like de la hoya, trinidad, pavlik, wright when its pure bull****.

his only top win was against tarver and at the end of the day tarver was just another over-rated american who got a name cos he beat glass jaw jones.

Nonsense. Other than losing his first fight on points his only other losses came to a peak Roy Jones and another three defeats when he was in his 40s. Give the guy some credit for being the best middleweight in the world for a decade.

nope the most overrated fighter ever is ali (yeah i said it). both sonny liston fights were extremely questionable. joe frazier and norton (who really beat him twice although only one was offical) are only considered great cuz they beat ali (rediculous they should be considered great on their own merit outside of ali). foreman is the only true great that he "beat" and that was cheating. i mean the ropes, the holding beahind the head, and when foreman was down he got up at the count of nine but the crooked ref stopped the fight. ali was a notorious cheater who always holding behind the head and never dissqualified. and the last thing louis, marciano, tyson, johnson, holyfield, lewis and any other great would have never have lost to leon spinks.
