I dont see Shane beating Julio all that convincingly but he would beat him more often then not nonetheless. JCC hit his ceiling at 140 but if anything Shane got better when he moved to 147.
Mosely is too open & likes to mix it up a little too much to beat Chavez. Once JCC adapted to the speed of Mosely as he usually did so well after about 3 rds it would be a case of Chavez dragging him inside & landing the cleaner, more effective punches throughout taking a UD. As tough & gutsy as SSM is, he aint getting the better of Chavez inside & he`d be eating those snapping right hands square on the button all night long from the outside. Chavez W12 Mosely (UD)
Some helpful info - Chavez beat Taylor at 140, not 147. JCC was never much good at 147, Id favour Mosely by UD at that weight but Chavez beats him by UD at 135 or 140.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANNxm4tY7sM[/ame] that this video really means anything, but point is that....mosley loves fighting mexicans.... bc it suited fro mosley powerboxing style
Interesting match up between an in fighter and a boxer puncher. I would favor slightly Mosley because of his size and his ability to clinch . I think his tactic would be to punish Chavez with hooks while coming to him and than to tie him up on the inside in order to avoid Chavez punishing hooks to the body.
At what weight? At 135 Chavez would win a close decision and at 147 I think Shane wins a close decision.
Nice vid, you noticed that Mosely was faster (obviously) & busier, you seen Chavez just take his time until he started to time Mosely & by the end of the 2nd rd, he was landing more frequently & making Shane hold more & more while stepping up his own pace. I know its only sparring but its similar to the way I expect a real fight to go between them.... a war that Chavez comes on thru the mid & late rds to score the more effective blows taking the UD.
i did notice that as well, but i would still lean towards mosley on the basis that: -he would not wilt like meldrick taylor, he would not get hit as much as taylor -he hits harder than meldrick taylor, not that chavez cant take mosley's punches -and mosley success versus other mexicans.... i may be wrong, just my opinion
Prime Chavez that beat Taylor was at 140, and Chavez didn't do to well at 147. Chavez best weight was 130 and 135.. At 147 would be shane fight, too strong for Chavez at 147.. Shane buy UD..
Its not that shane loves fighting mexican, souther California program is predominately Mexican.. Shane's style is mexican based..
