SO in a 13 round fight what do we do with the judges that score
    6 Rounds for boxer A
    6 Rounds for Boxer B
    1 Round Even? :think

I don't think odd numbers of rounds vs even numbers of rounds will make much difference so long as a judge can score an "even round"... :huh

Its a good idea but it has to be added to a system that disallows EQUAL scoring for rounds - but that is a whole new argument :patsch

Explain your wow. I explained why I think a 13th round would have been marvelous. Taylor still gets KO'd in the 12th. Richard Steele still would have stopped the fight at the same exact time, Taylor would not have taken one single more punch than he did, only difference is that the people that argue that there was only 3 seconds left and so Steele should have given Chavez a chance to land one more big right hand, would not be able to make that argument.

Yes. So, let's also put the "no even rounds" rule on this rule change.

Of course you can still get a draw even without even rounds.

    7 round for boxer A
    6 rounds for boxer B

Boxer B scored a KD in one of the 6 rounds he won, you still have an even fight. Point is that a draw would be far less likley.

The stoppage was right. Thats the end of it. Why do you need the guy to go out and take more of a beating, when you just assume he is going to get stopped anyway? What so the fans feel better about it? To that....I say Wow. I didn't think I would ever hear, or read, a boxing fan say that it would have been great if Taylor was able to go out and take even more of a beating......so we would all feel the stoppage was legit :patsch

But if we had 13 round title fights we'd probably have at least one example by now of a fighter being stopped with 3 seconds to go in the 13th.

Most fans are in agreement that it's the reason the length of title bouts was reduced.

Are you in a bad mood or are you always like this?

I would like to see 15 round fights again. Most fights are on PPV or a big network like HBO anyway, so I don't think having slightly-longer fights would be a huge problem.

Also, longer fights might discourage running fighters. Every additional round makes it that much harder for a runner to maintain a points lead or stay upright.

Are you even reading what I am saying. I don't think that Taylor should have taken more of a beating. I think that the stoppage was right on the money. He would not have taken a single punch more if there was a 13th round. There was a 12th round in DLH vs Vargas does that mean that Vargas was allowed to go out and take another 3 minutes of DLH pounding him against the ropes?

The big mistake was doing away with 15 rounders in the first place.

How about we change regular non-title bouts to 11 rounds and championship bouts to 13 rounds?

i favor adding it. like overtime in basketball. draws are ****ing controversial, and anyway to avoid it is a welcome idea.

Draws are horrible for boxing . Its like a no contest, nothing changes, if an undefeated fighter gets a draw he is still undefeated, if a champion gets a draw he is still a champion. Draw doesnt even enforce a rematch. Its just like NC.
