Just rewatched the fight...pretty clean looking uppercut at the end of round4?? Also hit Monte with some big shots in that round Anyway,my initial point was that Haye, despite having great power, isnt the best puncher in the division. I always thought that Haye took a count in round 5. Surprised me to see he didn't
You may have got that from a crappy scott guilfoid article. I believe it was ruled a slip. Could (and probably should) have been called a knockdown though.
Remember what setanta did? When they showed highlights of the fight they edited out the Haye knockdown altogether! What a stupid ****in channel that was. They were so far up their own fighters asses that, well you know the rest.
Mate that hurt. I feckin loved that channel. UFC all the time, some great boxing, darts, football. She was basically my girlfriend for two years. (doctors say my sight may return).
Nope not at all in my opinion. The punch wasn't great and shouldn't have hurt him. Valuev was walking sideways, which is pretty hard when off balance. I mean we'll never know at all if it did hurt him but to me it didn't look to have done that much damage
He wasn't off balance, watch it again, his feet were pretty much set. Then he wobbled from the middle of the ring to the ropes and even put his hand on the rope to steady himself.
Well I still don't make as much out of it as most people on here are, but like I said in my OP, I do think Haye is a very very big puncher
valuev needs to learn more skill and not just be some big mook waiting to throw haymakers and get carved up by the skilled.
