Absolutely he is a threat. That doesn't mean he could necessarily beat any of them but he destroyed Bonner, Hamil, and Vera. His resume alone proves that he is a huge threat at LHW especially when you take into account the fact that he is basically undefeated (sure, the DQ loss to Hamil was a legitimate DQ but it was merely a mental error on Jones' part. I think there is no argument to be made that if he hadn't DQ'd himself Hamil could have won.)

His unorthodox striking can definitely pose problems and his wrestling has proven to be top notch. He is young and tremendously athletic and could very well be a champion one day. Honestly I think his next fight should be against one of the fighters you listed. Rashad would be a good choice I think. It would be a shame for Silva to hold back someone with so much promise. Brock got a title shot after only a few fights and this guy has a great wrestling background too (though, not the same as Brock's) and has proven to be a destructive striker as well. The way you win matters and Jones isn't a fighter that has been grinding out boring decisions, he has been demolishing everyone put in front of him. I think he should be 2 premiere fights away from a title shot at this stage.

Yeah - Jon Jones is a threat to anyone. He's so unorthodox that he'll give anyone fits. He's strong and fast as well. The dude is for real. He doesn't know how to lose yet. It's going to take a top fighter to beat him down.

hes obviously a threat.. a better question would be, is he championship material in the making

and the answer to that, is yes, under the right guidance.. i think a fight with him and rashad would be unreal

give him looser of rampage/rashad imo!

    Hell ****ing yes!

    Ask yourself this:

Have you seen anyone anywhere throw Matt Hamill around? No. That kid is a ****ing truck! Jones tossed him around like a rag doll! Name ONE other Light Heavyweight that could do that? I'll wait...well, no I won't, because you'll be searching forever, because you won't find one!

This kid is a serious, serious threat to the Light Heavyweight division.

Right now I would definitely give him the stylistic edge against Rashad, Griffin, and Nog.

Super exciting fighter who leaves you wanting to see more everytime he fights. He is the most most exciting young fighter in the light-heavyweight division and Dos Santos is the most exciting young fighter in the heavyweight division. We got to see both of them for free against decent opponents last Sunday night. Now I will be ordering the PPV this Saturday in part because I'm happy and satisfied at having seen the quality card for free from a week before. Mixing free cards on Versus and Sprike TV with young up and coming talent along with pay per views with established veteran stars like St. Pierre and Mir in a couple of days is good business in my opinion. There is another good free UFC card coming up at the end of the month on March 31st on Spike.

Oh god yes he is. Real question is at 22-23 how much better will this guy get ? You would think well hes about to max about but hes so young and still very green actually, just recently started working at Jackson's and is freak athlete this guy still probably has tons of potential that has even came close to being realized. Id like to see him in with Forrest next regardless of what happens with Nogueira. I think Forrest is a good test hes very experienced obviously being a former Champion, is very well rounded and has the type of stamina to maybe push Jones into the deep waters that we havent really seen Jones in yet.

Shogun and Machida level fighter. Not as refined I don't think on his approach to a fight.. He seems to treat everybody the same, fights everybody the same. You can bet the more cerebral, cunning fighters like Shogun, Machida, and Rampage will try to use his aggression against him with counters, or try to somehow control distance, be it by smothering him or forcing him to stay at a certain range.. He is a hard guy to control with his mix of disciplines and quickness though, of course other than putting him on his back and controlling him in a borefest.

    Some good matchups.

I kinda agree I think if he is beat its vs a crafty striker who has years and years of experience and will apply a gameplan totally around avoiding any sort of tieup with Jones and working on controlling the pace and using timing.
