Im slightly tired of reading about mayweathers shoulder roll, and him leaning on the ropes etc etc, when people are analysing a potential fight between the 2. This is for clarity.

Mayweather fights southpaws ENTIRELY differently than orthodox fighters. there is NO shoulder roll cause it'd leave him open for the left straight - the one big left he took from judah was when floyd unintentionally went into the philly shell for a split second. there is NO hanging about on the ropes and MINIMAL backing up. His whole tactic against southpaws is to walk them down behind a high guard. How he fought judah is how he fights all southpaws. im surprised even that the hbo commentators didnt pick up on that, cause in the Corley fight they figured floyd was attacking more/walking him down to put on a show.....floyd doesnt care about that. he cares about tactics, strategy and winning.

anyway in this style, he doesnt counter anywhere near as much. hes a different fighter. he gets off first, albeit only at a time when he thinks he can catch the other guy. IMO this is why he loses to pac. this floyd isnt as effective as orthodox floyd. and for yall that dont now, mayweather snr told jnr's handlers after floyds first pro fight against a southpaw, not to put floyd in with anymore southpaws.

Whether he wins or not against manny is arguable, but at least bear in mind that the mayweather u guys are used to seeing, is not going to be the one who turns up against southpaw manny.

    :deal

    Mayweather stops him in 3.
Look for pacquiao to imitate ricky hatton and fly head first into the ring post.

    True.

Out of curiosity, how many southpaws has Mayweather faced in his career? And were these southpaws anything in the mould of Pacquiao? As in were they as fast, as unorthadox, as high workrate, as aggressive, and solid punchers like Pacquiao?

Reason I ask, is because I seriously don't see Mayweather choosing to stalk Pac. He won't fight Pac in the way he fought Judah, simply because Pac is more durable and resistant.

Whichever way he fights, I'm pretty sure he'll adopt his usual safety first approach, and considering his ability, he'll have a relatively easy night in doing so.

umm have you ever actually watched the Corley fight? Was there not a point in that fight where Floyd stood against the ropes in the Philly shell for a solid minute just letting Corley throw?

Not that he will...but he could use the shoulder roll out of a southpaw stance...left glove would be up and right arm would be used low ..prolly wont do it as he tends to stay in the high guard with southpaws

This is a point most Floyd nut huggers miss. He isn't as good out of the high guard.

Now lets break down the biggest difference between the shell and the high guard. VISION!!!!

Floyd loves the shell not just for the shoulder roll but for vision. In the shell your vision is unobstructed. Watch Floyd he has his eyes glued to his opponent and is looking to counter.

Now with the high guard I don’t care how good of a fighter you are it obstructs your vision. Now I know that all you little Floyd fans don’t understand this because your knowledge of boxing extends no further than fight night but its true. Manny’s punches are going to be coming from everywhere and without the ability to see as he normally does Floyd is going to be afraid to throw.
