They discussed elbows, knees to the head of downed opponents, no punting etc. I suspect it has been already established but I haven't heard. I have a feeling it's cage based on the statement that unified rules would be an asset. Anyone know for sure?
M1 used to take place in a cage but that might change. Who knows. I reckon the ring won't be used much longer in MMA.
Nope. I just watched the presser and they discussed the aforementioned differences in rules and not once said Pride rules would be the standard. Just that they are only now considering having unified rules. cage/ring was not discussed. Confirmation must be out there somewhere.
Why? Granted fighters can fall out but I like the ring. I don't like the cage being used to stuff people and pound them. I think the ring makes for more of an exciting game. It also has better visibility for spectators and removes the negative conotation that the cage comes with. I actually prefer that Chuck Norris thing (is it World Cobat League?) that has a round mat with like a raised border. I realise this has been debated and I'm not trying to raise the debate again. I just want to know if it has been established definitively.
