Its grand final day for the rabbitohs. If the sharks beat them on monday Rusty will be looking for a rope. What is it with John Sutton. Has anybody here ever seen him have a good game?

 

Hmm. Call me a pessimist, but I just cant shake off this worrying feeling I have about this game.

Despite being cellar dwellers, the Sharks always give the opposition a tough work out at home, and they could very well have beaten Melbourne there 2 weeks ago.

We were still pretty off last week actually, but yeah, we did string some good minutes together. I was watching the replay yesterday actually and in the final 20 minutes we bombed about 3 trys. On another day we could very well have ran out 36-16 winners.

The halves are the key for Souths, if they play decent - good, we should be able to do enough to win. If Lang sticks with the same interchange policy he did last week, the key period to watch will be from around the 25th minute mark to the 55th. If thats the case, it might be worth having a punt on a Cronulla/Souths half time/full time bet.

I've said it all week that I'll happily settle for an ugly 1 point win. I don't care how it happens, but I just want them to get the 2 points then **** off outta there.

If we lose this week, then it wouldnt surprise me to see the Dogs hit their straps next week and then we could be 0-4.

 

Err, he came 5th or so in the Dally M race last season and I think made more assists than anyone else.

 

what about Carl Webb last night:rofl what a dopey ****.Scott'the animal'Lewis has ruined him.

 

Cant agee with that ...sutton is class but i personally think he needs a kimmorley type player with him someone with experience and guile to guide sutton around ....

 

Pecks it doesnt matter if he won the Dally M I am yet to see him play a good game. Ok It must be me then.

 

though i reckon Sutton is a great player with great ball skills.doesnt produce it week in and week out though.

 

for those who dont know the story way,way back in the early days of rugby league.Souths and Balmain were in the Grand Final they were going to play the Grand Final as a curtain raiser to a Rugby Union game.both Souths and Balmain were miffed that the Grand Final was reduced to a curtain raiser and agreed to boycott the Grand Final.anyway Souths dogged the agreement kicked off to noone scored and won the Grand Final.:rofl:rofl:rofl
Balmain have hated Souths ever since.

 

The actual story is Balmain knew they had no chance, so why bother turning up?! :yep

Also, during the Super League war, the Tigers and Souths were originally the only clubs to oppose the reduction of 20 teams to 14. When things started to heat up, Souths stood their ground while the Tigers went conservative and thought that 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing, so they merged.

In 2000, the criteria ranking list got leaked to the daily telegraph and it was revealed that Balmain would have survived the cut anyway

The Tigers showed the same kind of backbone Mundine did during his fight with Siaca.

 

Pecks the story that everybody knows is correct is the tigers made one very big mistake back in those early days. The agreement was made with a handshake. They should of taken a dozen QCs. The tigers were broke after the super league war because they stayed loyal to the ARL. Your loyalty package was being thrown out. We merged with the Magpies which saved both clubs and got us a premiership. And its not like we are running last is it?

 

Two most overrated players in the NRL -

1. Paul Gallen

2. John Sutton

 

They still passed the blueprint which would have given them their own original identity in the NRL. Yeah, they did stay loyal to the ARL, but Super League werent even interested in them anyway so they had no choice.
They would have survived from grants afterwards as the NRL didn't want any teams going under after what can only be describes as by far the worst few years the sport has ever seen.

Also, your merger didnt save both clubs, it killed both clubs which gave birth to another. It's a joke that we are playing you guys in heritage round as your club is younger than the Storm. As much as I despise the Roosters, they're a more fitting choice for a heritage round opponent.

 

Pecks honestly I dont understand why you are so dirty on the Roosters. There hasbeens have kept your club alive for several years.
