Thankfully those days appear to be gone, though I think Joe Williams has made his way back to Norths. You cant tell me that you don't feel even a little bit of hatred towards the scum?! No? :hey
Pecks I have to tell you about Joey Williams. When he quit league to take up boxing Johnny Lewis, Billy Hussein and myself made an agreement to look after him. His last fight was in Nowra a few weeks ago and the 3 of us worked his corner. Joey has returned to Rugby League as Johnny Lang is interested in him at Souths. The confidence he has gained from boxing we think will make him a better player. So please as a rabbitoh supporter get behind our mate.
You know a lot of people I've seen all his games for Souths, and when he's on song he's great, and at the moment he's the type of halfback that Souths need. In my opinion, it's always been a confidence thing with him as he's been unable to turn a string of 3 or 4 great games into a very good season. I'll definitely get behind him as he's a very likable kid who was doing it tough a couple of years back. :good Though if he made a return playing for the Roosters...
No Pecks hes loves your mob. Hes living right in the heart of Redfern and his place is full of that rotten souths supporter gear. I hate going there. I think he told me they are playing the Tigers at Henson Park today. Blake Lazuras will be a good test for him.
Spot on mate.. Webb to me aint even half the player he once was.. It wasnt the drop balls and non attentive attitude towards the game that worried me. It was seeing him get constantly picked up and dumped or driven backwards that has me believing its just about over for him.. Even his defence lacks any MONGREL in it...He has fallen a hell of alot since that try in his state of origin debut. Cant be the same guy surely:huh
No im not ozzie but i know he would of been smiling on friday night. He was such a special person. The night I fought at the Opera House he stayed at my house and I dropped him at the railway station the next morning. He never drove. Always had a funny story to tell. He was one in a million.
Mighty Eagles played well today, actually they have played well for 3 matches but only have the one win. On target for another nail biting fullcard this week. :happy
A little tiny Magpie on the shoulder of their jersey and a reference to WESTS at the start of the teams name aint good enough.. The magpies were screwed in the pooper without **** when it came to the SUPPOSED MERGER.. The whole club smells of tiger.
My one memory of him was being at a Roosters v Balmain match in early 90's(so i was no older then 10) and sitting on the hill witnessing that Lunatic Roosters supporter(I dont know his name but im sure footy fans know who im talking bout.that rooster bloke) and Laurie Nichol going at it all game(verbally obviously)... Being from Mt Druitt it wasnt uncommon for me to see some crazy **** but having the Rooster bloke putting a curse on Laurie and then having Laurie shadow box in the Rooster blokes direction is still one of the biggest spin outs of my life.. This went on for the whole game.. All i know is Easts won and Rocket Rod Silva killed the tigers..I went there with my dad to watch him as he was a mate of my dads and fellow mt druittain. And i got in the Monday telegraph(background of Silva making a break). Man im reminising hard now..I started my footy career for the Hebersham Tigers( now called mt druitt tigers) and i remember we had the shittest set up and shittest field..Actually alot like Balmain..:deal
Not sure if I read it on here or on another forum but there was this one time when Laurie was in a verbal exchange with some fan during a game and afterwards when the other guy left his seat Laurie followed him. The guy then went in a portaloo and after he locked the door, Laurie started banging on the side and eventually tipped over the portaloo. Classic.
It wouldnt surprise me.. I was only a lil kid when i seen Laurie in the 90's and thought he was obviously a great passionate supporter of his club. My dad told me to stay away from him..I said Tigers sucked to him when penny was playing them at leichardt oval once and he went off his rocker at me..I stuck my finger up at him and ran for the hills.. Penny have some nutter fans..We got this big dike looking lady who has been following them rain hail or shine since i have been alive.I spun out when i seen her 2weeks ago and she has a lil son.It wasnt even gameday and her and the kid were decked out in penny gear head to toe..
1986 Kangaroo Tour of Britain...watching one of the Tour matches against a club side and it was absolutely pissing down with rain and every single crowd member were decked out in winter gear that would not be outta place in Antartica. Camera scrolls around the ground and here is this goose in a Balmain singlet throwing punches like a manaic --- God dam Laurie was one in a million.
