Marcos Maidana vs. Victor Cayo was some fight! Cayo, a quick, slick but technically flawed Roy Jones imiatator and Marcos Maidana, a raw, awkward, unpredictable brawler put on a great show on HBO's Counter Super Six program. All 6 rounds were action-packed, these two were thowing like crazy and never backed down, and it ended with a beautiful one punch body shot KO which is becoming Maidana's money shot. Seriously, first Ortiz then Cayo - Maidana lacks elite skills but makes up with heart and power. He's the dangerman in the packed 140 pounds division and it takes skills plus a granite chin to get past him. The KO out of nowhere This content is protected Check out the fight if you can! It was great action!
Thats a crushing body shot...I would have been impressed if he would have gotten up from that. I've been searching for this bout but I can't find it anywhere...
Damn. That was funny lol. The guy unloading with a combo and everything and Maidana is like pfft, take this. KO'd.
Looking forward to seeing more of Maidana, but if I never see Cayo again I'll be happy. He's like a poor man's RJJ (prime) or Emanuel Augustus (minus the dancing), thinks he can keep his gloves down and rely only on his feet, upper body, and head movement for defense. On offense, its arm punches from weird angles with an occasionally technically sound punch making an appearance, not much in the way of traditional skills. He still young, but I have a feeling this is his style and it isn't going to change.
it was a good fight that other dude had a weird style but he seemed kinda showy so I liked it that he got done with a bodypunch
**** man that is devastating power. Cayo should've been on his toes the whole fight I'm d/l this fight 10 minutes left :ko
Very good fight, the latin fighters deliver once again. Still have Escalante-Roman as fight of the year.
No wonder Khan didn't want to fight Maidana in the first place. Maidana reminds me of a prime Mayorga.
i wouldnt take anything away from Cayo. i think him and his team were very aware of what Madaina could do and had a great game plan going before the last couple of rounds. thats just what his style of fighting is. kind of like Calzaghe except he was in there with a prime fighter with heavy hands. :good
:good These great fights fly under the radar. Not the same action by far, but I liked Pongsaklek vs. our Koki Kameda as well, good skilled action fight!
