This is it fellas. The week of the fight this weekend. I know this fight is well overdue and should have happend as much as ten years ago, but it's still an interesting fight. Hopkins appears to have father time on his side in this one while Jones has the pure stylistic advantage. On paper Hopkins doiesn't have the qualities to give Jones serious trouble, but fights aren't decided on paper and Hopkins is the fresher of the two.

But, Jones even at this age, has performed very well against fighters with similar qualities as Hopkins. Qualities like weak pressure and a low punch output. But they didn't have the ring savvy or the tricks and ring IQ that Hopkins has.

That being said, I can't go against my fighter and pick Jones to win a razor thin decision. I feel he can take advantage of Hopkins' lack of power, punch output and pressure to dictate the action with his hands to impress the judges. He can afford to take chances because Hopkins has virtually no chance of KOing Jones.

I think what you said is absolutely true. It also seems Jones has always won the war of the minds, and its killing Hopkins. I think if Jones legs arent completely gone, he has a very good shot. I think Jones either gets knocked out or wins a cushy decision. Hopkins will get old overnight, it happens to all of them, this could be the night.

Exactly. You never know. This fight is far more interesting than most give it credit for.

jones has all the advantages in this fight.

hopkins will not go looking for jones because he knows his limits as a 44 year old man so i think he will basically try and cut off the ring and throw 1 or 2 shots before holding and then doing it all again. roy jones will have a lot of freedom to move in this fight and i think he will win a rangey, boring, potshotting, majority decision fight.

for those who think hopkins will knock him out, dont forget that he hasnt knocked anyone out since de la hoya all those years ago.

Brains says hopkins for obvious reasons. But for once I'm going the other way and picking Jones to turn the clock back and win a UD. This is a fight I'm pretty sure he didn't have a problem getting up for and getting motivated. If he's going to have one last great fight in him then it's gotta be vs. Hopkins.

Are all of you people serious?? Do u honestly believe deep down inside that this version of Roy Jones will defeat Hopkins??

Bernard will neutralize Roys speed, and pot shot his way to a win,B-hop will break him down and might get a possible late TKO

But I really see Bernard winning a UD

I really don't even care enough about this fight to make a prediction. I'll be catching this one on replay.

7-5/8-4 type Hopkins decision. Jones could pull it off but I think his lack of legs will have him fade late in the fight. I'll be rooting for Jones...

the executioner gets this one, unless jones puts up his defense to cover up his glass jaw.
