It's all about where he ism entally. At his peak (the Andrade fight) he beats Froch, and in convincing fashion too. We shall see. Also, he does some of the same things that Taylor had success with, and at a higher level + he never really fades.
I think it depends what kessler turns up. I think inactivity and injuries have taken there toll but maybe a new trainer can freshen things up. I honestly just cant see how froch beats a kessler whos even at 75%, froch is far too easy to hit, and i honestly cant see him stopping kessler.
I think Kessler can stop him. Look at what a gunshy Taylor did to froch, and it took froch til the dying seconds to knock down an allready cracked Jermain all credit due btw. but Kesslers the bigger puncher of the two and frochs chin is waaay over rated.
I don't see why people are saying that Froch will "steamroll" him. I think Froch will win, but he's not really a pressure fighter in the true sense. He is quite patient, has an excellent jab when he uses it, and wears people down through persistence. If he is going to knock Kessler out, it will be late on, after breaking Kesslers heart: sort of Cotto / Margarito.
Froch is incomparable to any fighter out there. His skill level is below world class and yet he has been beating world class operators. His main skill is his inability to accept defeat, in his mind he cannot lose, and that is invaluable. I dont know how he will win this, but Im sure he'll find a way.
This is gonna be a good thread to take up after the fight.. come come.. lets hear more about how Froch can beat Kessler!
Easy it comes down to mental toughness, Froch has it and Kessler doesn't. Froch will rough up Kessler take him into the deep waters and drown him. Kessler is too mentally weak to stand up to Froch's attack.
Kessler is going to step forward with his Jab like he always does, but Froch wont be going after him from the bell. Froch is going to rely on that one hit, that slow lead right hand he throws when Kessler moves in, and then follow it up with more punches. Froch late KO/ UD
I'm going with Froch by late round TKO. I'm pretty sure those who slate him picked him to lose against Pascal/Tayloy/Dirrell, and look what happened there. Froch has immense self confidence in himself and this will be the deciding factor come fight night. He's been in there against the "anti-froch" style a few times and come out on top, and I think Kessler suits Froch as an opponent much more. I am worried about the Abraham fight though...
I think the home advantage is key for Kessler. He needs to be kickstarted into the tournament and with a mental coach and a much better man in the corner I can't see how he can lose to Froch. The only questions Kessler need to answer in this fight is, how will he do on the inside and can he keep his focus if the fight turns dirty...
