watching the second fight I have to say DLH is the better fighter of the two. DLH's only problem in the 1st fight was that he tired. Had he not he would have continue to win the rounds. In the 2nd fight DLH didn't tire as much and was able to beat Mosley. To Mosley's credit he doesn't tire.
Stamina is a big part of a fighter. I scored the first fight for Mosley and the rematch for DLH. Given the situations leading up to the rematch, De La Hoya definitely should have won it clearly. I felt he won but it was indeed a very close fight with plenty of close rounds. De La Hoya was on a better streak and more suited to 154 than Mosley. I guess you can say the same regarding weight class in their first fight, but Mosley was a huge LW anyway and was on a much better run in previous fights than he was in 2003. When it comes to head-to-head Mosley has the edge, as I felt his 2000 win was more impressive than from what I thought was a win for Ocar in 2003. But overall, De La Hoya has the better resume and has a higher ranking all-time as of right now.
The 2nd fight was closer than the first one. So if anything, that means Mosley beat him clearer. And stamina is part of a fighters ability IMO.
No way. I had the second fight one 8-4 and sometines 9-3 and the first was clearly 7-5 and one can argue a draw in the first. DLH dominated the first half and Mosley dominated the second half and that is why it looks like Mosley won descisively and even in the second half DLH was very competitive. You should check out the fight.:good
I dunno I still say SSM 9 times outta 10. DLH blows close decisions by either running outta gas or fooling himself into thinking that he was the clear winner. That is always his excuse so whatever it is, it just doesn't cut it for a 12 round fight anymore. He earned the Quartey fight but not the SSM rematch, nor the Mayweather fight. Its beyond me why he stopped using his jab in the second half against Floyd.. He really could have won that fight. The man just doesn't finish strong as of late.
Well I am not going to argue your scorecard. Don't assume I haven't seen the fight. I have, and we have very different scorecards. I had Mosley winning 6-5-1.
I never saw the first fight and I don't care much for Oscar, but he won the second fight clearly. I was going for Mosley.
The fact Mosley admitted to using dynepo has produced a big black cloud over this match for me. No wonder he didn't tire -- he was using doping. It wasn't on the list of forbidden substances at the time, but that really doesn't matter much to me. He was aided by a substance that should have been illegal, as it's brother, regular epo, was. Mosley had chemically upgraded lungs.
Knowing Mosely was using the clear ala Bonds makes me question all that stamina and I simply cant stand DLH so that says a lot
Actually, Mosley showed he was the better fighter. DLH was up in the first fight before blowing the lead. Mosley made adjusments during a fight and pulled it out the end. In the second fight, he did the same thing. Although at a much slower pace. I havent seen DLH make adjustments during a fight other than against Vargas.
Steroid issue aside, there's really no definitive way you can say DLH is clearly better than Mosley. Everybody Mosley clearly lost to Dlh probably wouldve gotten beat by too. At the same time, I wouldnt be surprised if Mosley lost to Sturm and had controversial dec with Quartey and Whitaker.
hey i never got to hear your bitching about Jermain Taylor LOSING to Kelly Pavlik...... all this talk about superior black athletes and what not....what happened there?:think
