Kinda getting mixed results on this so far... I don't have HBO, but my buddy (whose house I plan on going over to this weekend) does. When I looked over on HBO's official 'upcoming fights' page, it doesn't mention anything about being PPV, but when I clicked the link here (where you see upcoming fights on the main page) it said it is a PPV. Course it didn't mention HBO so I'm thinking it was referring to another outside telecast or something. Could someone clarify this for me? Much appreciated...
HBO didnt want the fight. The only way Hopkins could get it done was on PPV with a lot of revunue sharing by both fighters. Realistically this could have been a great regular HBO or Showtime card with Ruiz Haye on the undercard.
Can't believe this is PPV. Neither fighter can justift PPV at this point, nor can they justify it together. I'll wait for the replay.
you'll be waiting a long time then. There is no HBO replay. They don't own the rights. It's a Golden Boy PPV, only being distributed by HBO.
Hopkins can justify it since he didn't lose his tune up. The only reason people are totally negative about it now is because Jones' loss was a quick shocking one, one hour before that people were demanding a rematch with Hopkins.

PPV is ****ed up. It used to be reserved for the cream-of-the-crop fights. Now it's becoming a repository for terrible fights no station wants to pick up. So essentially they're expecting fans to produce the fight. Dicks.

I know the one in my city cost $20 a ticket to go see it. Which is better than $50 if you were gonna watch it alone and it'd be cool to see on a movie theater screen.
