this will be a brutal fight, definetly one of if not the best fight of the year.i picked vazquez in all 3 of the previous fights but this time im abit unsure, they really have damaged each other significantly,im slightly leaning towards marquez this time but im not gonna make a pick just yet because ill probably change my mind next week.
Didnt he know its IV and not IIII, for shame. :-( Also on a completely irrelevant point, Marquez-Vazquez IV will be brutal but unnecessary, really retire or move on. I'm not saying I wont be watching it though.
I don't think it is going to be a FOTY type fight, no. I know a guy who knows Vasquez quite well and he says that Israel isn't himself after the third fight. Marquez's timing looked way, way off last time he fought and he only managed three rounds in the past two years. That's not good. Vasquez looked similarly ropey against a guy who hasn't won in 6 years. I know that these guys have turned it in 3 times before, so I understand why people are excited, but how can we really expect another great fight from these guys? They are done. And if they're not, they are going to be really rusty.
I have a sneaky feeling that Rafa has more left than Izzy, and will knock Vasquez cold in the 3rd round to make it 2-2 but finish the series.
^^^. I think I will cringe now for every punches landed between them. Hell, I might not even watch it. That 3rd fight was epic as it was brutal, and I thought they should have stopped right there. What else can they prove in that fight? We all knew by now they were equals, in power, in skills, in heart, in durability. The fourth fight will probably resemble Ali-Frazier III. Just brutal, just pure hurting, and I don't think these two warriors deserve that kind of beating at this point. They should be retiring by now and enjoying the money they have earned.
Next year, we have Super Bowl IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, better known as Super Bowl XLV. :tong
