Reznick,A wonderful reminder why I and the public at large,at Louis's zenith , loved Joe as a fighter and as a man...Look at Louis in SLOW motion, and ponder what he was at regular speed...The most PERFECT puncher who ever lived, now and forever...Watch Louis in regular speed against Max Baer, throw three devastating left hooks, fast as a bullet on Baer's jaw...Awe inspiring to me, even now...Young Louis was "a coil spring unwinding ",once described, so aptly..Prime Dempsey and prime Louis, were my hero's...Lithe and explosive...Great combo, I think...

I like to imagine Joe Louis' arms as big brushes, and his opponents as blank canvases ready to be painted on with different shades of misery, pain, agony, anguish and suffering.

I've always known of Joe Louis, but honestly, this thread and those slo-mo's of Louis's power and perfect punching technique have caused me to reevaluate my own ranking of the Brown Bomber..you can forget about any disparities cast because of that "Bum of the Moth Club" ****...Louis could have knocked out any heavyweight of history...included the much worshipped Muhammad Ali. Like I said, Louis was as deadly as a viper.

Ah, thanks. It's very close to my great-grandmother's maiden name.
