    I know damn well i sure didn't.

I have always liked boxers for other reasons then Nationality. Brits keeps using this whole David Haye thing against America.....I can tell you I'd rather watch Haye any day over Ruiz reguardless of nationality.

The USA is definitely a country in mourning today after seeing the great conqueror of Evander Holyfield demolished and left for dead.
In typical American fashion, instead of supporting their fallen hero after his defeat, they disown him.

Maybe europeans will dominate the heavyweights from now on, but it has nothing to do with your reasons and more with the existence of the NBA and NFL which are recruiting most of the tall, strong and athletic talent in the US, why try to make it as a boxer and get punched for living and risk failure when you can play b-ball or f-ball for a secure multimillion dollar contract? Now go somewhere else with your biggot ass comments. Some people are just ****ing ignorant and just have to open their mouth and say stupid **** like this. Remember a wise man talks cause he has SOMETHING to say, and an idiot talks cause he has to say something.:hi:

I don't know if Ruiz would be considered a "beloved former champion". Even his greatest fans agree that he was a tough, serviceable HW...but that's about it. His primary claim to fame is being the first Hispanic HW champ and noone can ever take that away from him.:good

:patsch  GTFOH with that bitter ass biased Euro-tripe-tastic garbage you just posted. Coincidental considering your post name that you feel that Europe is the holy grail of boxing and is everything pure and just and has all the good fighters while Americans suck and only win due to biased judging/officiating.

How conveniently do you forget that there is a long list of foreign fighters who have been robbed blind in many a European fighter's back yard(Germany anyone?) There has also been plenty of European fighters have traveled to the US and got their asses handed to them, or have had US fighters go to Euro fighter's OWN BACKYARD AND WHOOP THEM!

I love boxing. I can care less about what race, color, nationality, ethnicity, or fighting style a fighter is. Boxing is a global sport where all are welcome.

Oh and stop being so damn sore about Abraham-Dirrel and Ward-Kessler. All you biased Euro-fans thought both were invincible gods who wouldn't break a sweat trouncing their "bum" US opponents, and guess what? Both were dominated in startlingly one-sided fashion. But instead of give credit where it's due you take the little *****'s way out and cry about foul-play. Yet if the positions were reversed you'd be hailing Kessler and Abraham as Euro-gods because they what, dominated two supposed crappy ass American fighters? Ooooo how impressive it is to dominate "crap". So what does it say when that so called "crap" beats the daylights out of you?(I have nothing against Kessler or Abraham btw....I have ALOT against the bitching I heard from them AND their fans after they were beaten convincingly)

Today, in the United States, there are less boxing gyms, fewer knowledgeable trainers , and certainly a dwindling interest to fight, especially among our biggest and best atheltes. With parpicipation in boxing on the upswing in Europe, there is no surprise that most of the best big guys will come from Europe.
But some things will never change. Among all the pudgy Russians, the glass jawed Brits, and all the other straight-up, wide open, plodding Euro's there will never be an Ali, a Frazier , or a Foreman. There will be a lot of careful jabbing and holding, and outright quitting when things go a little sour. The crowds will either applaud politely, or get drunk and sing songs about their latest hero. But there will be no Rumbles in the Jungles, Thrillahs in Manilla's, or Fights of the Century.
Not only is the age of the American Heavyweight dead, but so are all of the dramatic, brutal, classic historical fights.

You prove how stupid fans from Europe are but I guess when you have very little to offer from a sporting standpoint you really have to focus on the few good things you have.

Is that why America, and other non-european countries still dominate every division outside of heavy???
