I actually think he is ready for action. After the Ward fight I doubted his desire to be all he could be anymore. I thought he was satisfied with the 3 guaranteed paydays from Showtime. But after reading interviews with him, and following his preperation to this fight I really think he is going all in. If he is the old Kessler again, Froch is in for a beating! I i actually think this might just be the case:bbb
I heard it was two unknown guys who happened to be at the gym. Not very promising. I hope it is false rumours.
doesnt surprise me one bit. Not the first time rumours flying around, about his lack of quality sparring.
Kessler will be exposed again for being the worst fighter in the tournament; just as I said from the start.
Well all I know for sure is that he's sparring Danish middleweight prospect Patrick Reinhard Nielsen. But he's not the kind of fighter who will prepare you for a fighter of Froch's caliber. According to Kessler he has had no interruptions in his training and his sparring has been very good: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Mikkel-Kessler/185438090636?v=app_2347471856&ref=ts But of course Kessler would never say that his preparations has been shite... Anybody with concrete knowledge of whome Kessler has been sparring please feel free to share.
Did you really say that? Most of ESB had him as an outright favourite (something I never really understood) and seemed to be convinced he would win the whole thing undefeated. I didn't have him down as the worst fighter, but I never understood the hype. If Froch prepares well (and he usually does) he can take this guy out in 10.
Yes, I had it between him and Dirrell to be dead last. Obviously I got the Dirrell bit one and my prediction was based pureply on his experience, not his skill set which is very good.
Somebody on a Danish boxing site said that he had been sparring Lolenga Mock, Patrick Reinhard Nielsen and a couple of foreign fighters that he did not know. I would like to know who the two foreign fighters are... :think Gotta say it doesn't sound all that great.
I see Kessler winning this, if he is focussed and in shape. I worry about him mentally, but he has the tools to do a number on Froch IMO. A lack of quality sparring is a huge problem for a lot of fighters in Europe, and is a key reason why they often struggle when faced with well-schooled American fighters IMO.
yeah i know, i started the thread:good mock and patrick would be okay for the average every-day training, but not as sparring partners, at the level kessler is at now. who those foreigners are, will say alot about how well prepared kessler is.
I just wonder what that school might be about these days. As a long time fan of American (North and middle) boxing I don't like too much those fighters who take from Hopkins because of the dirty stuff mixed in. Founding a "school" on the likes of Sugar Ray is also hard because you need exceptional talent and basically the whole package to carry out what he did. I mean punching power, stamina and rocket fast footwork. Look to Dirrell and Ward: Ward without substantial punching power and a Dirrell who runs too much.
