I hadn't seen any footage from Collins-Resto until that HBO documentary. Frankly I don't want to see it again, it really is appalling. Although the state that Resto is in now, plus Panama Lewis' attitude, make it difficult to have too much ill feeling for Resto.
I thought Resto came across as a really selfish piece of work. He wasn't that bothered about Collins, just as long as he distanced himself from the incident. Lewis manipulated Resto, but he still a piece of **** to me.
Fair enough, he seemed genuinely sorry to me though (not that being sorry makes it ok). The "renunion" of sorts where he tried to confront Lewis was what did it for me, he couldn't look him in the eye let alone speak his mind. Doesn't change the fact that he did it though
Cotto vs Margarito. Damn that fight was brutal. I havent watched it again because its uncomfortable to see a man possibly being beaten like a dog by a man who now transpires to have had bricks in his hands. Cotto was game, but you cant compete with brick fists on a iron chinned pressure fighter.
Jose Luiz Castillo Vs Gomez, why did he have to fight that guy and retire? Cotto Vs Margorito for the above mentioned reasons
Lewis v Tyson. It was awful to see Mike lose like that.Im not having a go at Lennox,he beat the man in front of him.But it was not a good night for boxing.
Those ones are obvious, I too have not seen any of those fights in full. There is a couple of very good fights that I have seen numerous times but have to force myself to watch due to the end results & rarely watch nowadays, those fights are Morales vs Pac 2 & MAB 3.
