I've recently bought a body/coach armour suit and just wondering if you guys train with one and what are your thoughts as the gym I go only train with pads. I think it adds intensity and extra combo's can be used. How many rounds do you normally do on one and your thoughts on if they're useful or not.......................

I'm a body puncher so my coach always wears it when we do pads and most of the combinations we work involve body shots, so it's a really important tool for us.

Alot of people forget about the body in amateur boxing and just headhunt. Even though the judges don't like to score body shots when using the computer scoring system, you can still hurt guys and slow them down with a strong body attack and even score a few points if you land really clean and the judges are feeling generous.

Exactly what I am experiencing at my amateur gym, head hunting drills, they have body suits but no-one ever uses them so I decided to buy one and do some seperate training with my friends......totally gassed out after hitting it for two rounds though I was trying to hit it pretty much throughout with no rest. Ricky Hatton used to train with one for 15 rounds to get in peak physical condition!
