I am surprised McGuigan/Taylor did not make the list, that was another Saturday night prime time bout.

Honeyghan also got prime time Saturday night slots for the Bumphus and Blocker bouts, as did McAuley...

And Bruno got prime time Saturday night slots for the bouts between Witherspoon and Bugner bouts.

Indeed I am amazed the Marbella Bull ring farce with Honeyghan/Mad Dog support is not there; maybe the 24 hour delay hurt ratings?

I am also guessing we are talking live bouts, as the Sunday morning re runs of the Tyson bouts in the late 80s, the as live coverage of Bruno/Bugner and the prime time next day delay of Leonard/Hagler would be on there...

As you say mate, Honey-Hatcher was a Sunday night fight which won't have helped but the Bumphus and Blocker fights were on prime time as was Barry Mc-Taylor and Laporte.

Was Bruno-Bugner on Sky or ITV?? I can't remember.....

Watching Eubank in the early 90's got me interested in Boxing and i always prefered him to Benn (still do) though i do appreciate Benn more now than i used to.

On a delay on ITV; live closed circuit on Matchroom. (Hearns' first (big) show I believe)

SKY was around, but to a very limited market, of course they made their name with Bruno/TysonI, but my old man was too cheap to buy the satellite, so we ended up watching it closed circuit, which was zero fun...

So he decided we did needed a satellite, and duly went out and brought a..... SQUARE-RIEL!!!!

compare these to recent domestic boxing views... Khan v Earl got 4.14 million when they fought according to BARB, impressive figures i'd say considering the number of channels now available and the magnitude of the fight

although froch v pascal didnt even make the top 30 shows so that got less than 3 million

Yeah, it was repeated Sunday afternoon with Des Lynam and Harry on commentary, where we got the famous 'Get in there Frank' Quote, and the 'That's Cricket' interview.

We also got the last two rounds of Nelson/MartinezII, where it was concluded Azumah was shot!;)

IIRC Honey-Curry and Honey-Starling were both Sunday afternoon delays.

I do not think they showed Honey/Curry until the following Saturday (on Grandstand), as the fight was going to be such a mismatch.

Of course the Irony being they kept a decent slot open for the ultra competitive grudge match between Honey and the Magic Man!:D

hehe I thought so, that fight stayed with me:goodI must say I don't remember seeing Nelson, sadly..

I always remember first seeing Tyson whilst looking at tits in the NOTW which my Grandad used to bring around every Sunday.

He made an impression I never forgot.
