Jake LaMotta gets "stopped" by Eddie Mustafa Muhammad

Pesci is funny in this movie with his profane rants.

My favorite scene is the ringwalk to the title fight with Cerdan. I love how it shows how all the fans are cheering on LaMotta as he walks to the ring, then he's gotta be in there all alone.

Although he only has handwraps on. Did they put on the gloves in the ring then, or is that just is mistake?

Do you recall how Saad Muhammad went to Eddie's hotel room and forced him to skip rope to lose the required weight necessary to make the limit for Mike Spinks? It's always infuriated me how he foolishly got up to 201 for Snipes, then had to drain himself for Michael. How might he have done if he'd bypassed Snipes, and gone straight from Koopmans to Spinks? (And how on earth did he ever get down to 173-1/2 for Kacar in December 1985?)

We've discussed in the past about how devastating he was against Mwale. (I wish this one would appear on youtube.) Too bad he'd already blown his shot at a return with Michael by refusing to make weight. Mike Spinks never ducked anybody that I can recall. He was even briefly willing to take on Eddie in a nontitle over the weight return when Mustafa Muhammad came in too fat. (That match was originally going to be for the undisputed LHW Title, which Michael had unified against Qawi. Eddie really blew it. What the hell was he thinking?)
