Does the Pavlik-Marinez fight prove that Paul Williams is not overrated?

And to answer to this question, hell yes it proved Williams is not overrated. In fact it made Williams proved he's a great fighter that barely beat a great fighter in Martinez that beat the **** out of unbeatable (according to most Pavlik biased fans) middleweight king Pavlik.

I agree, the fight the other night only raised my already high opinion on Paul Williams.

Saturday night did not change my mind about Williams or Martinez either one. However, it did a great deal to change my mind about Pavlik and his team. Pavlik looked like a guy who just does not want to be there anymore. We may very well be looking at a kid who is mentally shot. And although I have defended Jack Leow in the past, I now aggree that he is dumber than a box of rocks.

Exactly. Id pick Williams over all the top three WWs. He'd be hell for all three and even if he didnt win he'd give them all a great fight. I had him beating Martinez and thought for sure he'd beat Pavlikk. I hope he and Martinez get a rematch because I have no doubt he will beat Martinez again only more convincingly.

i always thought Williams was a very good fighter and I still think he would beat Pavlik. it's not just a stick and move boxer who would beat Pavlik it's a guy who has great stamina, good hand speed, and stays busy that would beat Pavlik. And that is Williams. If Pavlik had more speed and one punch power I would favor him over Williams but he has none of that.

So rather than give Williams hid due props, you are goin to say that Martinez won because Pavlik is shot and so Williams beating the man who beat Pavlik doesn't really matter because Pavlik is all of a sudden shot?

Thats a pretty stupid statement considering he crunched Quintana in the rematch,he'll do the same thing to the very similar Martinez in thier rematch.

RIIIIIGHT!! SO, 2x the same mistake would make Paul a pretty stupid guy! Anyway, this fight just demonstrated that Pav was more overrated than Williams was, that's all!! Ohhhh, I also remember how SMartinez gave that kind of fight to PW in a weight class he had never fought b4 and with VERY LITTLE NOTICE! Just like Williams wanted, just like Williams did with CQ.
