Khan UD or possibly late TKO with Paulie getting pulled out, but not hurt. Too fast, too accurate, too sharp and too disciplined.
I think PH|LLA summed it up best when he said, "What happens when the resistable force meets the movable object?" I honestly don't know. I'm not sure Khan can knock Paulie out (Paulie's got a decent chin). I'm not sure Paulie can knock Khan out (I don't think Paulie has the power). So it looks, on paper at least, like it'll probably be a decision. I'll go Khan UD, based on handspeed, workrate and aggression, but not with any great certainty.
Trixie Princess its a 50/50 fight no matter who you like or dislike ! this will be amirs first test to see if he can handle the elite levels he already gets the big bucks but has earned them yet if he cant handle paulie he is not ready for bradley/alexander/hatton how will amir deal with a tricky/experienced/tough/adaptable boxer like paulie ??? how will paulie deal with a speedy/young/talented fighter like khan ??? if you ask me who i want to win i'd say paulie if you ask me who i think will win i'd say amir it will come down to a 115-113 UD either way someone is gonna get a gift :deal either paulie in his hometown or amir goldenboys new toy..... since ortiz binned it :think
not at all, khan will win this by a mile, this is khans time to shine and he will make himself look very very good in this fight not seeing its an easy fight for khan, but it is a fight khan will look good in
Hi everyone, I am a new poster here. Since this the the fight other than MayMos that I am looking forward to the most I thought I would share some opinions. First I agree with TonyD that it really may be a 50/50 proposition as both fighters have some very good qualities and some flaws ( we have seen more of Paulie's flaws as he has fought better fighters.) Second, I am a little bothered by the overwhelming amount of KO predictions that smack of the recent talk that Pavlik would "brutally" destroy Martinez. I seen no evidence that PM would be Ko'd, he has fought power punchers ( Hatton, Cotto) and a volume puncher twice ( Diaz) and has never been knocked out. Say what you will about Malignaggi's power, either his offense or defense reduced the punch output of Diaz to less than when Diaz fought JMM so obviously he did something right ( Diaz however did look afwully slow) In fairness to Khan, I have only watched 3 of his fights ( Prescott, Kotelnik, and Salita) and two of those were over to quickly to get a good feel for his style. He did very well against K, but I think any other top 140lb fighter would too.
Khan by domination. Similar to what Cotto did to Paulie. Paulie is a quality boxer. The problem with him, and the reason why he will remain IMO a gatekeeper at best, is his lack of pop. I don't believe Paulie can offer good resistance to Khan's offensive onslaught, not with his lack of power for sure. He can run, he is a slick boxer, but he can't hide. Eventually, Khan's attack will slow him down more, rendering him ineffective, and will give Khan a lopsided, UD victory.
My prediction is that Malignaggi will pull out the close UD or SD... Possibly knocking Khan down sometime in the fight. Khan will have his moments but will not be able to crack that beard Paulie brings. I could be wrong and Khan could surprise me (and a lot of other people) but thats my prediction and I'm sticking to it.
:deal This one should go the distance. A draw wouldn't be out of the question. Pre-Roach I'd probably pick Paulie. But since both have made improvements, moreso with Khan, I'm siding with him, but then again, he hasn't fought the quality of opposition that Paulie has. To me, it's all about the fight plan each brings and in a close fight like this, after watching the first round I can have a better answer. But my feeling is if this is done in the center of the ring Paulie will school Khan. If Khan cuts off the ring on Paulie's slippery ass constantly and land body shots and an occasional headshot, he can break Paulie down. Paulie has great footmovement, but like Pavlik, once he starts getting hit, he becomes stationary and doesn't punch back, like a sitting duck. Khan will have to throw 4-5 punches at a time because 1 or 2 at a time ain't going to cut it. I don't think Khan has been tested yet, but has potential. Roach is the best out there along with Richardson so I'm confident Khan can win this on a SD, but will be an entertaining fight.
I'd be shocked if Malignaggi won this. Don't think he has a hope, I'm just not sure if Khan can finish it inside the distance or not. He won't be afraid to stand and throw some punches in bunches as feather fists Malignaggi won't rock Khan's dodgy chin. I'll go for a Khan stoppage but a UD is just as likely. Paulie is tough but limited.
Not a fan of Khan but this is a perfect mathup for him. As a hater of his I would not be suprised of a stoppage....Paulis feather fist match up perfectly for Khans speed and power.
