, only becuase he retired, mayweather still retains the athletisicm and skill set that makes him the most complete fighter in the game. Mosley is basically #3 ponund for pound and Mayweather is the only man to beat Marquez controversy free and has fought more champions and been in more championship fights than Manny ,,,,so the simplee answer is yes:good

P4P is bull****. The question is who will be the #1 @ 147. In my opinion, if Floyd beats Shane, he should be considered the best welterweight in the world.

Yes he should! Hell Pac has three losses. I dont care when he got them. Some of you need to understand boxing. When Mayweather said that Cotto, and Clottey are flat footed do you guys even know what that means and how that can and will be used against them. May wanted to fight Shane yrs ago and trust me he has already figured Shane out and Pac bc there is a blue print to beat them. P4p Mayweather!!

One other thing. When Pac and Mayweather do fight that in and out **** is not going to work for Pac. He is going to have to box. Mayweather has supreme footwork and that will work against Pac and plus if you know boxing you know that a jab to the chest will make a fighter have to reset. Watch May 1st and you will see him disarm Shane Mosley. Learn the sweet science!

Its effective against flat footed plodders, against skilled boxers Like Morales and Marquez he struggled, Mayweather controls the geography of the fight the king of ring generalship....

Yes it would be a tie (draw) for P4P . only makes sense. and this is the next best thing to ensure that they will fight to prove who makes who

your just a clear biased fan. hell mentioning pac has three loses. flat footed you say? who cares dumbass. the guy your boy is fighting on may 1st is a leftover of the other guy your calling flat footed.

I kinda agree to you. i think shane despite of being old and inactive at some point is still the man at 147, so anyone that beats shane (plausible manner) makes him the man at welterwieght but not necessarily p4p #1.

This. whoever wins on may 1st would have to beat pac to take his spot.

The pound for pound ACTING "king" is playing the role because Mayweather took a break. If the current "king" doesn't want to fight Mayweather AND Floyd beats Shane convincingly that should be enough for most people to remember the state belongs to Floyd.
