Can anybody help me with a few questions? Does Setanta have exclusive rights to the fight. I.e. will anybody on your basic Sky Sports package be showing highlights? If not, how quick is it to subscribe and get access? Plus will they be showing highlights afterwards in case the unthinkable happens and I fall asleep! Then how easy is it to cancel? It's £10 a... month?
The fight will be shown exclusively live on Setanta Sports 1. According to FWTV from 28 Oct to 2 Nov you can subscribe to Setanta for 3 months at £5 per month with no annual contract. Outside of these dates Setanta is available for £9.99 a month. Hope this is helpful.
On FWTV under latest news headlines click on Calzaghe: I am a Warrior - at the bottom of this article you will find the Setanta details I outlined. I meant to add in my previous post that the fight is not PPV.
hell, i'm not even going to try and see the fight.. I kinda like the way some of the good folks do play by play on here (kinda reminds me of listening on the radio as a kid:happy) I am assuming someone will do a pbp :hat
This is one of the biggest fights for a long time, and it is well worth subscribing to Setanta for. I have subscribed to them purely for this fight, it is going to be great match and one I could not miss.:good
just saw that setanta have a total of 200,000 subscribers in the uk as a whole . i am guessing that the vast majority of them will be scottish football supporters from scotland and northern ireland. how intrested will they be in boxing and a fight that is going ahead in the early hours with a poxy undercard ? this fight is going to be watched by a paltry few which is a shame.
Wonder how many sky would've got had they done it PPV? Not much more than setanta I'd guess. Its hard to gauge but I bet Setanta will have a ruck of subscriptions close to the fight, they've been taking full page ads in the newspapers etc.. At the end of the day ITV could've had the fight but decided they only wanted Khan as a headliner form the SN stable, understandably following the ammount of let downs they had during their tenure with SN. I wonder if ITV have any repeat rights to the fight?
