That is simply incredible. Glad to hear it, but I don't think many will be.

Cheers Teke. The worst thing as Storm fans are throwing there tops at the front door steps as i speak.

I dont think they will recover from this.

I think the NRL probably will never get a team going in Victoria and the AFL will slowly take over.

Sponsors will be getting off board with the Storm aswell.

Game is ruined down here now.

Also i wanted to add to the posters that simply see us as Cheating ****s.

The Fans we never ****ing cheated as either did Bellamy or the Players.

    So go a bit easy.

Its bigger than that though and i really people are not seeing the bigger picture.

If the NRL loses the Storm which i feel they will they will never get Victoria back. Yes i know a couple in the Storm ****ed it for everyone but Gallop i believe may have blown the biggest opportunity getting the game really going.

Imagine if it was your team and all im hearing is Storm fans are getting rid of there jerseys at admin doors now as we speak.

I find it hard to believe the players didn't know. If I signed a contract at 100,000 and they paid me 150k I'd know something was up, deep down they ****en knew.

mate they wouldn't have been that dumb

they would have signed a contract for $200,000 but $100,000 would come from two different sources in two different books i would suspect

if they had done what you are suggesting something would have been found out much earlier IMO

Sure, if they signed a contract for 200 and got 100 each from 2 sources no worries.

But to be over the salary cap someone was getting x amount over their contract. so they must of known then.

From what I've read Newscorp. were involved, with various players on deals to appear on Fox etc. These payments were as wages but kept off the books to avoid the cap.

    So really its Ruperts fault.

I am no big league fan since the superleague fiasco but I am surprised that this is being blown up to be the greatest crime of the century.

Don`t all clubs do this to some extent?, isn`t the amount talked about a drop in the ocean....what 1.7 million over 5 years?.

How hard would it be to give players a bag of cash?, although then I guess the players WOULD definately know and maybe more importantly BE LIABLE, it`s like the US bank situation, they have been robbing citizens for years and contiue to do it but it is accepted as part of the scheme of things?.
It is no doubt wrong but it doesn`t add up to me, good to know though that someone in authority somewhere is honest and credible.

Rugby League didnt have a problem until John Ribot and news limited decided to come along and do everything they could to destroy our game. We all sat back and watched rugby league lose local juniors and the passion people had for the game. Now our friends at news limited have been caught cheating the system and again have attempted to destroy our game. My opinion is lets not forgive news limited. Dissolve the club and put there players into a draught with Cronulla getting the first 2 picks. News limited can pay out there contracts so all the other clubs dont have any further costs apart from match payments. As far as the Storm fans are concerned just give them George Piggins phone number and he can help them ease the pain of not having a club in the NRL.

I only go to the odd Storm game, but I feel sorry for the genuine supporters & members.

You do the crime, you do the time. But hope it's not the end of rugby league in Vic though.

Amazing the damage a few cheating *******s can do to a club. It's a little too early to linch him yet, but Brian Waldron's certainly got some answering to do. The taxation department will be very keen to have a coffee with him for a start!

It may well be the end of the Storm IMO! It'd take years for them to rebuild their cred, and for that reason I reckon a new club with a new name might be the better way to go.
