outside of Calzaghe and maybe Kessler, i don't see anyone else beating Lacy at 168...Froch talks alot, but hasn't beat anybody...Bute is good, but he can't keep Lacy off his ass for 12 rds...Green fights in spots, and Lacy will punish him in the spots he doesn't fight...maybe Jean Pascal could do the job, but i see him getting outslugged...Taylor isn't disciplined enough to beat Lacy, he doesn't use his jab enough...the bottom line is i see Lacy as the #3 supermiddle right now...
considering he tore his left rotator cuff so badly he needed extensive surgery, and that his best punch was the left hook, I think alot of people can beat him.
Tsypko almost beat him. That fight was an MD, I scored it a draw, lots of people scored it for Tsypko. Seriously, a lot of people can beat Jeff Lacy.
because of his injury. I think outside of Calzaghe, Kessler, Mundine, and maybe Bute and Froch, Lacy has an easy time in the division and I would favor him over Bute, Froch, and maybe Mundine.
seriously, unless lacy decides to all of a sudden incorporate a lot of boxing skills into his game, there are a few fighters who will definately beat him. kessler, definately! no doubt about it. he'd school him like similarly to how he schooled andrade. but unlike calzaghe, kessler will put lacy away inside the distance. kelly pavlik, definately. he would get into a war with lacy, but when he decides to stand back and hit lacy from range, he'll take over. UD or late round ko. mundine, maybe. mundine is a confidence fighter so jeff might put mundine into a defensive shell for the entire fight. typsko did well. i gave him the fight. yes, lacy tore his rotorcuff, but still if they fought a third time i would not right tyspko off. lucian bute might, though i have not watched many of his fights so cannot say for sure one way or another. can't think of anyone else, but considering lacy is not a huge power puncher, and lacks some skills, especially in the footwork and defense department, he wont be anymore than a contender in my opinion.
Lacy isn't a great P4P puncher like a Hearns, Jackson, or McClellan by any means, but he has a lot of power.
ya i could think of about at least 10 off the top of my head in 5 seconds, he is a good fighter but there are a lot of guys who are better than him
