point is, wlad had a slow burn career. he did not fight top fighters, lewis, holyfield, whoever. did not gun for major names. he faced chris byrd FFS and went for the WBO bauble his brother lost. haye is clearly doing it bit by bit. cruiser titles, a version of the heavyweight titles, get manod out of way, and then the big fight (a K2). there are ways of building up to things. as a former cruiser he has to do it bit by bit. many of you are totally overreacting to a piece of non-news. i find this hysterical but also in a way quite sad. haye will want the biggest money and to be part of the biggest stage. BTW, do any of you actually look to the bigger picture or do you just jump to conclusions? it appears wlad will be facing his mando, povetkin, this year. is wlad prepared to give up his title in order to fight haye next?
He doesn't have to give it up. They are willing to take exception to the fight with Haye should it go ahead. But the negotiations must be done soon. If Haye/Wlad does not happen, Wlad will fight Povetkin.
mormeck was the unified cruiserweight champ and haye beat him away from home. he stopped frago, gurov and macca, all of whom had been regarded in the media as top 10 world class fighters. ruiz was haye's mando - a fight that couldn't be avoided. christ, if haye hadn't smashed him up there would be double the whining. ah, so wlad's mando is haye's fault! which fight does wlad want more, povetkin or haye?
Did you read my post atsch Wlad does not have to fight his mandatory if he can agree to a fight with Haye. Or would you rather ignore it?
