I know this fight has only gone 8 rounds so far, but Carl Froch -- Carl Freaking Froch -- is making Mikkel Kessler look old, slow and just out of it.

I'm a fan of Kessler, but he clearly looks on the downside now. It may be time to start wondering if Joe Calzaghe "ruined" Mikkel Kessler. Maybe Kessler needed his "0" to be at his best. It's starting to look that way.

As we start to think about Calzaghe possibly ruining Kessler, it may also be time to start re-evaluating just how good of a win was Andre Ward's over Kessler.

In light of the new evidence, finally, it may be time to say that Lucian Bute is "The Man" in the Supper Middleweight division. His impressive KO's over rugged Librado Andrade and Edison Miranda, and Kessler's current form, may have vaulted the Romanian-Canadian past Ward and the rest of the 168 lbs crop.

Or Kessler was never that good to begin with and Calzaghe fans go and say he's been ruined as it's one of his best wins.

    Go figure.

At the end of the 8th I had Froch up 4-3 but losing the previous 3 rounds. My stream messed up a lot after that, but I'm betting Kessler won most or all of the rest of the fight

At the end of the 5th I had Froch up 4-0 (missed the first round) :-(

Ward beat Kessler, no doubt about that.

....BUT, without all the dirty fighting and the homereferee it would have looked better.

Credit to Kessler. He really put in everything tonight (in Europe). Froch always looked the stronger and bigger man in the ring... but he really should have kept himself bussier.
Kessler outworked Froch to a fair close decision.

Kessler isn't done, nowhere near. He's only 31, that's a very good age for boxing. I think it's just that Calzaghe and especially Ward are very bad matchups.

And with Ward, we may potentially have the best SMW in the last decade. Because Ward totally dismantled Kessler.

I thought Kessler looked good. He moved his head, threw to the body, hooked occasionally - the upshot was that his handspeed wasn't so quick because he was thinking a bit more. But when someone fights with that much heart, I couldn't give a ****.

    Agree with this comment.

Kessler is nowhere near the fighter he was when he fought Calzaghe. Against a guy like Froch, that version of Kessler would have drubbed Froch with precision and power.

I didn't score the rounds of the fight tonight, but I felt, overall, Froch was the better man. I knew, however, that Kessler would get the decision based upon where the fight was being held and who is backing this tournament.

Kessler hasn't looked good since he fought Calzaghe. That includes his fight(s) against lesser competition, not just Ward and Froch. His timing is off, he's not what he was.

    Shut up clown.

I was the guy who made a thread some time ago about how the case against Ocie was really designed to ensnare Mayweather. I think that thread got shut down, because of no-nothing morons like you. I made the thread as soon as the charges were filed against Ocie, because I knew what the prosecutor was trying to do.

So what happened the other day?

Ocie's attorney -- or Floyd's, can't recall which -- said the entire case against Ocie was about getting Mayweather.

I know more than you will ever hope to know. You're just too stupid to realize it, and you think you're wise in your ignorance.

    Don't waste my time.
