Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by Anaboilc lion, Apr 25, 2010.

  1. Froch took that punch behind his head well , he had a litle moan/rub of it and thats all.

Now if that was Andre dirrell what do you rekon he would have done ???

Hopkins in Jones 2 was abominable for taking time off for rabbit punches, the man must have set new records.

Fallen on his face, cried a bit and won by DQ.

Stagger around and fall face first to canvas and get Froch DQ'd before crying and telling everyone to give him room because he needs to breath. Poor lad has it so hard.

Gone to his knees before being told to man up by the ref.

The punch to the back of the head?

Yes, I think I heard Duke or Rawlings crying about that last night, something to do with how the ref "should have a word with Kessler".

Now, if it had have been Dirrell who had been hit?!? Well, we would have got to see some Nicolas Cage type acting, wouldn't we?

To be fair, Froch was warned early on for a single punch to the back of the head that wasn't particularly rabid.

He fought the fight pretty clean, they both did.

Kessler got warned later. The first time was as a result of Froch turning away as Kessler threw. It was unintentional. When Kessler did it again he got told.

In a way, it was great that it was a clean fight, but from another angle, Froch perhaps fought too fairly, given the clear success in totally upsetting Kessler, Ward had, just had, with his dirty tactics. I suppose with an away from home ref though, Froch may have been roasted for misbehaving.

If he fights Kessler again, Froch needs to be, as he often is, cold as cold can be, imo, try and use every trick in the book, I'm not sure being mates with fighters before hand possibly brings out the best in him.

Anyway, that's my random tuppence worth.

Got a vid of the round?

I was surprised Kessler got warned for it at the time. Seemed like a pretty instantaneous thing that just happened. Some guys spend their careers whacking guys on the back of the head in clinches...not to name names but...

Was a good clean fight with little clinching which always helps.

Nothing malicious in that. Froch threw a wild punch and stumbled in and Kessler was looking for the counter but Froch went flying past and it ended up on the back of the head. Not really sure thats worthy of a thread. It did seem to bother Froch a little.

    A new low for Kessler.
