The sheer number of ESB members who are " ok " with a win by fighter " A" when they really think fighter " B" won, is mind boggling. " Oh I'm ok with a Paul Williams win over Sergio Martinez even though I really think Martinez won" " Oh I'm ok with a Juan Diaz win over Pauly Mallinaggi, even though I really think Mallinaggi won."
I had money on Froch. I have met Carl Froch. l even Like Carl Froch but anyone thinks Carl Froch won that fight knows absolutely NOTHING about boxing. Kessler won the fight CLEARLY. There are some close rounds that could be scored either way but Kessler was the busier of the two. He landed more punches and he landed just as many power shots. I scored it 115-113 Kessler. Round 5 was the only round in the first 8 that Froch won clearly. After 8 Kessler was 4 rounds up. Those are the facts. Plain and simple. I don;t know who this guy is but he has scored the fight perfect after 8. The last 4 hmmmm but the first 8 read carefully. Kessler won man -> http://www.sportinglife.com/boxing/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=boxing/10/04/24/manual_230506.html
When your a crude brawling fighter that generally looks like ****, you need to count on the knockout if you plan winning many fights. For everyone so liberally scoring round after round for such a fighter, it says a lot about your ability to judge fights.
When people are not bias such as myself you can view a fight with an open mind. (Not much of a fan of either fighter) I scored rounds for Froch which were close and identified with the fact others could easily score them for Kessler. Hence: I have no problem with Kessler winning. If I had an emotional investment in the fight it would be different.
Kessler was pressing the action and had Froch backing up all night. I think that had a lot to do with Kessler winning the fight. For most of the fight he looked like the winner.
Froch should know first-hand from his last fight,,, you need to work at a high rate and win rounds CLEARLY to get a decision in your opponents back yard! (right or wrong, that's just how it is) Back-peddling, and landing a few clean shots per round won't get it done when the home town guy is coming forward, throwing more punches and giving the judges the impression that he's making the fight. Froch has nobody to blame but himself... He seemed to me to have the tools to beat Kessler... but basically allowed himself to get out-worked too many rounds. That don't work on the road... just ask Dirrell.
I honestly thought I'd log onto esb this morning to find countless threads giving a fading Kessler credit for beating Froch in a fantastic war. Instead this place is ridden with fan boys crying robbery :-(
