Hello Guys and Girls. Is anyone going to this event?

I'm considering attending but am finding the lack of confirmed "champions" at the event a little disconcerting. Apparently Pacquiao, Haye etc have been invited but when you check the Champions page of the website it says still under construction.

Has anyone heard anything about this event or are you planning to go?

    Thanks

I was seriously considering it, but I can't start work that week and it would be unrealistic for me to go, so I aint entertaining the thought of going.

Live in the centre of Cardiff so could not avoid it if I wanted to, looking forward to it but as you guys have said nothing much confirmed yet - unfortunatelly the Winstone film looks complete shite from the trailers but the GB vs The World amateur boxing looks tops.

I live in Cardiff as well, but I'm probably abroad at the time.

  5. Wanted to go but then i got chucked out of the country for having an invalid visa.

    Champions now confirmed include:

David Haye, Roberto Duran, Leon Spinks, Eric Morales, Ken Buchanan, Alan Minter, John H Stracey, Junior Witter, Joe Frazier, Ernie Shavers, Tim Witherspoon, etc etc -- already 50+ confirmations.

Keep updated as new names confirm at www.wbcnightofchampions.com

ALL events open to public. BIG carnival in Cardiff city centre that weekend (funfair, live music, etc), and expect many champions out'n'about during day on the streets.

And expect some 'spectacular' events being planned during Festival -- more anon !

Didn't know you needed a visa to visit Wales...sounds like a good idea though.

    Seriously, where are you from?

I spoke to the Bloke who organised this event and i'm sure he said they'll be around 150 ex-world champs there. Seemed a very nice bloke too and if i'm off that weekend i'll more than likely be going to this

Seen the prices of the tickets though ?

£250 for a nigh out is a bit over priced if you ask me

Trust me, even if there was a chance to meet God himself, it still doesn't justify hanging around Cardiff.

There is no god and Cardiff is lovely.

Still I aint paying £250 for the privelage of having my picture taken with a few fighters, still smarting from paying £25 a ticket to watch Frank Bruno and Ricky Hatton talk shite for an hour.

If anyone is coming to Cardiff for this and needs somewhere to stay, my gym has B & B facilities. Nothing glamourous, just somewhere (reasonably cheap) to get your head down.

Just give us a shout if you so require! :deal
