Both men had awesome power, particularly in the left hook. They had completely different styles, strengths, and weaknesses IMO. Tua stands 5'10" with a 70" reach and his best weight was about 225-235Lbs. Tua has one of the best chins the HW division has ever seen. He had great KO power in both hands for the entire fight. His stamina and speed were best when his weight was under 240Lbs. He scored 7 KOs past the 6th round including KO12 Izon, KO11 Maskaev, KO10 Rahman, KO9 Oquendo. Tua's goal is simple. Get close and land hooks anywhere he can. With his height and reach, it was never his plan to box on the outside. He wasn't fast but he wasn't slow either. He was effective when he had a high workrate. Morrison stands 6'2" with a 76" reach and his best weight was about 225-230Lbs. His chin was far from great. He had decent power in both hands but his left hook was by far his best punch. He scored 3 KOs past the 6th round including KO9 Hipp and KO8 "The Truth" Williams. Morrison had good hand speed and was decent at bobbing and weaving to work his was in to land left hooks but he set them up with jabs sometimes. He had a decent workrate. So, prime vs. prime... who wins and why?
Not sure, I wouldn't say Tua was a whole lot more mobile then the 90's Foreman whom Morrison out boxed. Certainly more active however. I'd favor Tua, something like 7/10 I'd say.
Morrison would have run like he did against Foreman to make it past 1 or 2 rounds with Tua, but I don't see it..this has "Tua Highlight Reel KO" written all over it.
Morrison has to box how he did against Foreman to win, if he comes to fight he gets KOD in the first round.
Morrison would have to hit and move. However, like the others stated, Tua was quicker than the 90's George Foreman so eventually Tua would get to the Duke. Morrison had underrated boxing skills but was still no Chris Byrd in terms of elusiveness. Tua by kayo.
I think Tua could take a Morrison shot much better than Morrison could take a Tua shot....Morrison would probably do well early, his speed and explosiveness would probably stun Tua a few times and win rounds. But Tua would eventually tag Morrison, and the end would soon follow!!!!
