Pavlik threads like this one date back to at least 2006. They always involve Pavlik verses an all time great, or Pavlik verses someone from a higher weight class, or, on occassion, Pavlik verses an all time great from a higher weight class. If the posters who start these threads were honest, the thread title would be, "I'm a Pavlik Hater and Want You to Help Me Make fun of Him."
Pavlik would not win this fight, but he would make a go of it and lose a UD in a see saw battle with Marvelous.
First step, set the bong down, second, open the window. Pavlik won't even be considered for the HOF let alone an ATG. Even the mention of him as an ATG is a joke.
Kelly Pavlik would brutalize Hagler for a few rounds, then take him out whenever he was ready. Hagler would barely land a significant punch the whole fight.
ATG is unllikely, but his career isn't over and he may well pick himself up and make a HOF worthy career before he retires. It all depends on if he can get over his blinding loyalties and do what he needs to do to augment his game and fix his holes. Being a two-division champ would help for starters. That double header was meant to tease people into a potential Pavlik-Bute fight next year. That may not be happening now, but Robert Stieglitz has a belt to be taken by anyone willing to go to Germany to take it.
